Why is my Game so inaccurate?

I’ve had a Game Whisper Tac (I think it’s called) for a couple years and may not have 100 shots on it. I’m shooting Crossman 10.5 gr Ultra Magnum round nose pellets and at 15 yards they’re all over the place. I have a Hammers 3-9x40AO scope on it. Are the pellets I’m using not any good or...

Your thoughts on air gun "silencers"?

I have a Gamo Tac with a really short "silencer" on the front - 1 1/2" from the end of the actual barrel to where it exits the end. I can cover up 5 shots with a dime off a solid bench at 20 yards. I just finished with the M-Carbo trigger kit on my grandson's Benjamin - dropped the trigger pull...

Need help with grandson's Benjamin Summit air rifle

I searched online and for MCARBO that makes trigger upgrades for rifles including the Crossman NP2 trigger, and I ordered the Pro package which included a lighter spring, some shims, and an upgrade of screws. When I disassemble it I'll polish the trigger blade and sear. Hopefully I can get...

Need help with grandson's Benjamin Summit air rifle

Are you talking about the screw at the back of the trigger? His screw head stuck up about 1 1/2 turns but didn't touch anything, I turned it in and it dropped from 7 1/2# to 7#. It definitely is a 2 stage trigger - bad and worse. I'm going to get this thing to work better. I checked my Gamo...

Need help with grandson's Benjamin Summit air rifle

My grandson has been struggling with accuracy with this air rifle. He brought up to me to look at and I can't group with it either at 10 or 20 yards (my Gamo shoots keyholes at that distance). First thing I realized is the excessive creep and long trigger pull - check it and it's running...

Need some help with my grandson air rifle

My grandson got a Benjamin Summit .177 air rifle this past spring and him and his dad were shooting it in the basement and was getting horrible groups. I looked it over today and found the scope rings were not tight to the picatinny rail mount. I was thinking of pulling the scope anyway and when...

Having trouble with the air gun calculator.

Afterwards I found that one and downloaded it. Figured out how to set it up for my inputs and got exactly what I needed.

Having trouble with the air gun calculator.

I'm shooting a 10.5gr pellet out of my Gamo Tac at about 680 fps or so. My scope height is 2.25" and 4 clicks per MOA. But the calculator keeps adjusting for clicks up and I just want to know the drops (and above line of sight) are out to 50 yards with a 20 yard zero. It won't let me put a zero...

Question about my Hammers 3-9x40 AO mil-dot scope

I can't find my manual but I assume each graduation in the reticle is 1 mill or .3.6"? Thanks.

Is there a decent youth sized air rifle?

My 14 year old grandson want an air rifle, and not sure what his budget is. He wants accuracy and be able to shoot squirrels. As usual, I think the scopes that come with many air rifles are unsatisfactory as I bought a Hammers and never even tried the scope that came with my Gamo Tac Whisper...

    PCP or Spring gun?

I found that video online and it was great. I use a front BR front rest with a rear bunny bag and always ensure the sling posts are clear to ensure the rifle can move as it needs. I have to laugh sometimes seeing people at the range with lead sleds and have their rifle "tied down" almost in...

Question about my air rifle velocity

Thanks Joe. If that's a picture of you in your avatar, and we happen to be in the same bar some time when a fight breaks out - I want to be on your side!

Question about my air rifle velocity

I recently bought the Gamo TAC Whisper and after installing the Hammer 3-9x40 scope, I decided to sight it in and check the velocity with my chrony. The rifle is stamped with a 1250 fps with a PBA pellet which from what I can tell is about 5.4 grains. When I bought the rifle I picked up some...

My Hammers 3-9x40mm AO came today

The included scope that came with my Gamo wasn't going to cut it so I ordered the Hammers 3-9x40mm AO Thursday and it came today. Got it mounted, the eyepiece focused, and this is a decent scope for the distances I plan to shoot. I found the BC for a .177 pellet online as .020 and with a guess...

Do I need an air rifle specific scope?

I'm trying to decide between the Hammers 3-9x32 AO scope and the Hammers 3-9x40 AO Magnum scope. I'm most likely not going to need an air rifle in low light conditions so I'm not sure of the advantage of the larger 40mm objective. Looks like a coin flip to me.

Do I need an air rifle specific scope?

I pulled the Redfield scope (with it's wire reticle) and for the time being I put the included Gamo scope on. If I do a search on "top rated air rifle scopes", the Hammers 3-9x32 AO Mil-Dot keeps coming up every time. However, it has a Mil-Dot reticle, and I'm sure it's not a FFP, I'm...

Do I need an air rifle specific scope?

After a quick look at the 4x32 scope that came with my Gamo TAC that I just bought, I put it back in the box and mounted an older model 2-7 Redfield Illuminator. But this scope has wires instead of an etched reticle. After reading some other posts on here, that may not be a good idea. Will any...

    Newbie airgun question

Thanks John, this is the first one I've seen with a .700" - .750" diameter to fit my barrel. Thanks.
