I had the same issu when I changed the hammer spring for a stronger. The valve spring wasn't stong enough to stay closed (the one with the ball of the slug kit). I've changed it for the old one and everything is ok now. 

I’ve installed a laser for close range, but haven’t try it yet. Hope this will help me for holdover ...
