Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

I have just recently taken my MA2 apart and adjusting some things. I am finally getting what I feel is a very consistent shooting experience. Put 200 rounds through the gun today and never really had what I would call a flyer or bad group. I am getting old so not really trying for those pellet...

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

I'm starting to really like the FX pellets. I added a couple of the metal magazines last week and just had a chance to try them this morning. Swapped back and forth between plastic and metal. No real difference in performance but the metal mags seem so much more solid. Groups right at 1/2" to...

    Macavity Arms Magazines

I kinda feel that they built it using parts already in use. They say it is an American air rifle. Made in China with samples that were made for the Korean market according to one video from a gun show in an interview with a Macavity rep. Not sure if they are the same rifle or if they are...

    Macavity Arms Magazines

I ordered two. I am hoping they at least have a way for me to know when all pellets have been fired by not loading when empty. But I really don't know why I think they would add this feature, just a guess. I have not seen anyone review them. Guess I'll find out next week when they get here.

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

I was going to stay out of this discussion due to being new and probably asking some questions that make the gun seem not as good as it is. I am extremely happy to be one of the early buyer's and owner's of the MA2 .25 Sniper. I have consistently had good groups with most of what I question...

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

Seems like a lot of posts I have seen say the hammer spring setting really doesn't need a set screw but I'm thinking it probably does. At least now I've taken the gun semi apart and it does not make me nervous to access the internal settings. Still seems like I am not getting the shot counts...

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

after removing cover, found set screw very loose. went ahead and adjusted hammer spring while testing. tightened set screw, 9 shots after tightening. seemed pretty stable. I'll have some time over next few days to see if it improves groups and holds setting

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

I just picked up HT-X3006 I read several different threads where most said it was fairly accurate though maybe not exact. Worse comments were that it was a bad way to attach to the barrel. I just tested 10 shots and they ranged from 795fps to 800fps. factory says the .25 MA2 is set to 890fps...

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

Pretty sure I have several loose screws. Thankfully that is the only one I have found in the rifle. Also, I need to stop just looking for something else to buy because of the rifle. Milligram scale, micrometer, chronograph, etc... Just to get groups better and try to convince me it's not just me!

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

I want to get to know the gun a little better before I start locking things down. Still haven't worked up the courage to start taking it apart or trying to turn screws to change settings. I have a chronograph on order that should be here early next week. that will give me a true idea of what...

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

none. lever is smooth and easy all the time. no pressure or friction from the bolt, it is just a pivot point. I had picked the rifle up from across a table I was filling it on and I probably held it upside down a few seconds and apparently the bolt just fell out. Had to remove the scope to...

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

day was going pretty good. out early, shooting fairly decent groups and then my side lever basically just fell out. found bolt that holds it in on the ground. Had to remove scope line it back up and reinstall retaining bolt. wasn't quite ready to start having to take apart the gun quite yet...

What did you order / receive airgun related today? Thread

4 tins of FX .25 25.39 gr. Want to test to see if are the same as JSB or more consistent as supposed to be from just one die out of nine. Thank you Pyramid Air. Best packing ever, not one ding or dent on any tin. Hope pellets inside are just as pristine.

Other Truth behind Macavity Arms Prototype Airgun

For the ones of you who have done adjustments on the prototypes or Genesis rifles: if I decide to adjust my regulator, clockwise or counterclockwise to reduce the shot pressure? I am waiting for a chronograph I ordered to set some base numbers. But seems sometimes adjustments are counter...

    .25 pellet resizing

Thanks so far for all the instructions and information. I had no idea what slugging it meant. Now I have several things to check to see if I can understand what the mechanics of the resizer are. It is sold as a .25 6.35 sizer so I need to get a micrometer to start checking some of the...

    .25 pellet resizing

I recently purchased a Shooter's Box .25 pellet resizer and ran about 100 JSB Exact King pellets through it. I did feel some resistance when I pushed the pellets through which did not happen if I did it a second time. Any bent skirts also seem to be rounded out again and looked great...

I keep finding other sizes but not the .25 (6.35) yet. just don't trust my own measuring ability.
