    HW35 any good?

    Aging like a fine wine!

    HW/Weihrauch HW50 , the challenge continues

perhaps it was triggered off and the previous owner put on a different barrel? Or bent the barrel back. For what it’s worth, here is a video of Paul Watts fixing an R7 that was triggered off and bent the breach forks up slightly.

    HW/Weihrauch HW50 , the challenge continues

I thought maybe it was triggered off and the forks got bent, but looking at the other pics they seem fine.

    HW/Weihrauch HW50 , the challenge continues

it looks like something may have happened to the breech jaws. Notice the way the light reflects differently where it meets the spring cylinder? Not sure if this has anything to do with the barrel droop or not.

    HW35 any good?

Thanks, that’s my thoughts also. But still not sure I understand why there are two sets of numbers for each shot. IE on shot 1 it says: 0965-01-0959

    HW35 any good?

Beeman sent this test report with my R10 after doing a “super tune” back in 1998. Not sure exactly how to read this either. Is it 5 shots or 10 shots?

    N/A springer grease ?

The crazy thing is they must have spent a fair amount of time on this “super tune”. The piston was honed and nickel plated and is probably the best looking HW piston I have seen. Additionally they ground/polished the spring guide, and re-contoured the piston seal. And added screw cups to the hex...

    N/A springer grease ?

I used very very little on my spring pistol spring. (Beeman P1). IMO you are using way too much if it is gumming up. Basically just needs to be “painted on” (assuming you are using a decent quality moly grease). Last time I replaced the spring in my P1 several years ago, I used JM’s “clear tar”...

    N/A springer grease ?

Beeman used to sell “Spring Gel” which was a red, somewhat tacky grease. Probably very similar to this. I still have a container of it somewhere. When I sent my R10 to Beeman for a Supertune, they loaded it to the hilt with this stuff. It was very smooth and cocked like butter. Unfortunately...

    Beeman R1

I believe that would be a replacement barrel. I have an HW .22 barrel with serial # HS3214 that I bought to replace the barrel on my R1.

Benjamin NOS Benjamin Sheridan 397PA Employee Gun arrived today

In addition to removing the “lawyer spring”, I put a lighter trigger spring in mine. The trigger is now actually fairly decent.

    Other Alternative to hw50

    Actually: R9 = HW95 R6=HW99

Benjamin NOS Benjamin Sheridan 397PA Employee Gun arrived today

It’s still confusing. So my serial number starts with D947….so December 94 would be the build date. The gun above serial number starts with 497….so April 97 build date? That’s all well and good, but then what is the extra “7” in my D947 serial number?

    Other Alternative to hw50

If it’s a new HW50, then it was also sold as a Beeman R6 or, just to keep things interesting, a HW99.

Benjamin NOS Benjamin Sheridan 397PA Employee Gun arrived today

Thanks for clarifying. Any idea why their other guns, like the one above, don’t have a letter for the month at the beginning of the serial number?
