In the price range I would say a Hatsan break barrel of some kind, I have had two Hatsan and am happy with them! but sounds like It can be a lottery on getting a good one. They have a .25 cal for around a hundred and I don't think most of the cheaper ones come in that. I have a Hatsan 130qe and...

I would find out how to increase hammer spring tension and go a quarter turn at a time till it pops the valve open. I don't have this particular model but would not think that info would be hard to find.

The way I see it is black powder cartridge ballistics is the closest to try to use as a reference to air! They are very similar, of course air is a lot cleaner and quieter
