What scope magnification do you like to shoot and why?

I like 6x @25m and mostly mantaining this proportion 2.4x @10m, 4.8x @20m, 12x @50m and so on trying to mantain the dimensions of the target and the field of view. My choice in magnification is between 2-7x to 4-16x max.

22 or 177 for hunting at 15 yards with sub 12 FT/LB air rifle?

If the most of the shoots are between 7(less?) and 15yards both the calibers are usable but... I prefer .177 in low power configuration 5.5ftlb/7.5j , for that distance RWS R10, H&N Match Heavy or even lighter ones as Geco and RWS Field Target , H&N Barracuda 8, JSB Exact or JSB Exact Express...

    Other New to PCPs

Diana Stormrider. I would suggest .177 regulated to be detuned for the ratting purpose. I like sub 5.5ftlb/7.5J because enough power, better kill zone in the 7-25yards and no damages all around

    Hawke Airmax or Sightron S-Tac?

I have all the Airmax mentioned but for ratting in a 7-25 yards I prefer the 2x7-32, the 3x9-40 is better overall and mainly in the 12-40yards, the 4x12-40 is nice but too long.

Need a low power air pistol, or possibly a rifle. What to get in today's market?

I'm use to shoot in low power as I posted some months ago https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/mouse-infestation-at-my-new-house-and-bb-guns.1250395/page-2#post-1746409 , https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/newbie-backyard-pcp-for-pesting.1303820/post-1640937 Yesterday night I was ratting and...

    I Love 3d Printing (RTI Mora/Nate Chrony)

I love 3D printing too! I made several parts for my RTI PriestII: cheek rest(it fits with small double sided tape), butt pad, shooting bag rider and a protection for the pressure gauge(Esun PLA+). I printed also the parts to transform a microphone rest to a C10 rest(added a leather top) with...

How important is it to own chronograph if you tune your gun? And why?

I'm Italian and, as in many other countries, we do have power limitations not only in case of buying and owning but also in the competitions(in BR the competitions are in 7.5J,16J and 21J). I tune my rifles(HW977, HW50S, HW30S, RTI PriestII and Pardini GPR1) but I must be below a certain power...

Which Airgun Dealer Has The Best Customer Service?

Even tho I do live in Italy I have a suggestion: have the choice of your gun, as more as expensive it is, because of the producer support. The dealer servicing and support even good depends by the producer capabilities to supply parts and offering technical support. My more expensive airgun is...

Mouse infestation at my new house and bb guns

I do live in countryside and I understand your problem. I have twoo cats working well but in case it's needed... I'm use to have ratting sessions at a friend of mine farm. He discovered that the best solution is me with my RTI sub 7,5Joules/5.5fte, Hawke Airmax 2-7-32, Pard NV007 12mm 910nm and...

    Cast pellets from soldering tin?

Nice picture! I'm not an expert in casting bullets but I was just replying to something is not completely thrue: in Europe, as often happens elswere, there is a restriction by law and then corrections and exceptions because there are not alternatives for some tecnical needs. Many companies are...

    Cast pellets from soldering tin?

I'm italian and I know that lead is "verboten" for the plumbers, so for the copper tubing for water lines, and the most of the common use from 2011 but not for other purposes as the welding compounds because of EU committe exception 2020/365

    Cast pellets from soldering tin?

Today I was working on a old Bimota Suzuki 750 that needs to have an ecu upgrade(I'm a racing motorcycle electronic technician) and in the workshop I was they were using 60%lead and 40%tin soldering compound that's for high temperature purposes. They were with a lot of issues because of the...

RTI Reducing FPS (on RTI Priest -> Prophet conversion)

I confirm that on my Priest2 I got new last summer there is a 7mm reduction. I sent an email to RTI and they sent me back some of those to make more elegant that the ones I made from a 7mm Piaggio Vespa bolt. I agree that a better way to have a proper reduction is to play with the regulator and...

RTI Reducing FPS (on RTI Priest -> Prophet conversion)

I left all stock but the tranfer port reduction and the velocity is 165m/s-541FPS with JSB Exact 0,547g/8.44gr corresponding to 7,5Joule. The efficiency is great with well over 350 shots per fill of the 320cc aluminium bottle @300 bar but since that I prefer not to fill over 250 bar. With so a...

RTI Reducing FPS (on RTI Priest -> Prophet conversion)

I have a RTI Priest2 4,5/.177 in low power configuration, <5.5ftlbs/7,5Joule, with the original fixed 125bar regulator. I have a Competition Electronics Procrono DLX and I found the right diameter of the reduction on the transfer port by testing different diameters for the hole(in my case about...
