Daisy 5 meters, 5 shots OFFHAND CHALLENGE

Let’s see your basement groups, standing unsupported, 5 meters, 5 shots — BBs or pellets. Here are mine with the Daisy 499B smooth bore BB gun, 4 different BBs, ranging in price from 5 for a US penny (Daisy Precision Max), to the exorbitant 1 for a penny (Daisy Unplated). The Hornady Black are...

4 different BBs, 3 different barrels — accuracy with Daisy 499B airgun

Finally got a bottle of Hornady/Umarex black coated BBs to try out and compare with my standard Daisy Precision Max BBs. With the exception of one very wild flyer, the Daisys gave the smaller group. Bear in mind, the muzzle loader Daisy 499B is a springer, so even with an artillery hold, rested...

Daisy Daisy 753s vs FWB 300s pellet test

Just got a Daisy 753s 10 meter single stroke pneumatic. First impression was that it’s pellet finicky and no match for my old FWB 300s 10 meter springer, in terms of accuracy. Tested 4 different pellets, 5 shots each target at 10 meters rested, and I’m more impressed with the Daisy, but the...

Reactive Paper Targets for the Daisy 499B

I'm trying to come up with some fun little reactive targets for this 5 meter bb basement tack driver. Your ideas are welcomed! https://share.icloud.com/photos/02aK0TK4egGHKUm3G5lHxj2wQ https://share.icloud.com/photos/063UWJpvJaiN1B6g86FP3EkSw

Reusing BBs (and accuracy with Daisy 499b)

Can you effectively reuse steel BBs — they should be fine, right? I mean… STEEL! Daisy recommends using only new clean BBs in the 499b, but hey, they sell BBs for a living, so we have a right to be skeptical. Test: Shot 10 Daisy Precision Max BBs into a (steel) Altoids tin at 5 meters...

Daisy Daisy 880 bb vs pellet OFFHAND (and 499b)

Never thought I'd shoot steel BBs through my rifled Daisy 880 barrel, but after getting a Daisy 499b and being impressed by it’s accuracy with BBs, I just had to give it a whirl — rifling be d#@&3d (what can 10 BBs hurt at 500 fps?). I have to say, it's nice to be able to chamber BBs so quickly...

Daisy Daisy 880 pumps vs velocity

    For what it's worth, with Crosman Premier 7.9 grain wadcutters: Pumps Velocity (ft/sec) 2 381 (2.54 foot pounds) 3 458 (3.67 foot pounds) 4 517,517,517,518,518 (4.68 foot pounds) 5 563 6 590 7 626 8 649 9...

Crosman Crosman 392PA GET THE PAINT OUT!!!

My Crosman 392pa has never been an accurate rifle with any pellet (1-2 inch groups at 10 meters, on a rest). Did a pellet push through today, and what do you know, there's a flat spot on every skirt and some of the heads (same orientation). A flashlight in the breach shows what looks like a burr...

    Chinese wadcutters — available anywhere?

I have a few of these Chinese wadcutters left from maybe 20 yrs ago — probably bought them during one of the old Mac1 annual pellet sales Tim used to have. They seem to be high quality match pellets. Anyhow, they group great with my FWB 300s and my new Daisy 880!! Anybody know if they still...

Sheridan I'm PUMPED! Red Dot Sight on my old Silver Streak

Just got a $24 red dot sight off'n Amazon (along with a 11mm to 20mm Pickatinny adapter for a few more bucks) — I already had the Sheridan intermount that clamps on the barrel to create an 11mm Weaver scope rail… Anyhow, my elderly eyes aren't too good with the iron sights, and I really wanted...

Daisy Daisy 880 pumps vs impact point at 10 meters

Here's how the impact point varies with number of pumps at 10 meters (what I typically shoot indoors). These chinese wadcutters weigh about 8 grains. My take: At this short distance, between 4 to 8 pumps, the impact point doesn’t change much. I might try this again with heavier pellets.

Daisy Daisy 880 barrel weight test (offhand)

The Daisy 880 is a very light rifle (about 3 pounds), even with its little stock scope, and it sports a very light barrel/shroud combo. It came to my in a dream that a barrel weight might help offhand accuracy. I happen to own a cow magnet (used by dairy farmers to prevent Hardware Disease —...

Daisy Daisy 880 - at 10 meters, standing offhand

I'm amazed and pleased with this very inexpensive Daisy rifle! I'm an old geezer and my beautiful German FWB 300s, while a tack driver, is HEAVY for my old muscles. It's much easier to lift and hold (standing offhand) my new plastic Chinese Daisy 880 (see 10 meter comparison, below). To be fair...

ShinSung Career 707 II trigger adjustment instructions

This was from another forum from years ago. The manual doesn’t tell how to adjust the trigger pull weight, but mentions that the trigger is 2-stage and adjustable down to approximately 2 pounds. “ Quite simple really! Push the underleaver forward to cock the gun and apply safety.Turn gun...
