    Resources Need advice

To get a good start on scope setup, you want to zero at the apex of the pellet trajectory. That will be 25 to 27 yards for a 20 ft lb .22 shooting Hand N FTTs. From there you holdover for both closer and further targets. work out where in your mil dots you have to hold from 9 to 60 yards...

    Resources Need advice

Start with the Discovery. You will find its limits fairly quickly, but don't go down the rabbit hole trying to mod it. You will want a better .177 rifle soon. Start learning to range targets and work up a trajectory chart for it.

N/A old man that is newby to air guns

Break barrels are too weak to be much use in .25. A good .22 will be good to 30 yards if you can get the distance that close.

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

We have had a match director do that twice. He put the ranges on the back of the scorecards at a club match as an experiment. Didn't cause any change in anyones scores from their average.

What are the downsides of semi-auto?

More possible points of failure. Lack of control of the operator often results in a "spray and pray" approach.

N/A New Bill? Maybe Big Bore Hunting in PA!!!!

What it took here, was to have folks show up at the meetings where it was being discussed. There was a video on youtube of a controlled hunt that the was aranged with a rep from fish and game and the owner of Air Force airguns, where they took a deer at reasonable range with a .30 texan...

Pellet or slug? Overkill or ethical?

The benefit of Slugs are for long range ballistic coefficient. Terminal performance on game is going to be similar until velocities get to the point that hydrostatic shock becomes a factor. Airguns are not near that level.

Gauntlet SL30 Medium Size Game Take Down Effectiveness

Pigs are not game. Invasive species, so no closed season, no restrictions on methods of take. Full auto from helicopers is ok if you have the cash.

Gauntlet SL30 Medium Size Game Take Down Effectiveness

With a heart shot or brain shot, yes. Lung shot will be a long trail with little to no blood and a questionable recovery. Minimum power levels are there for a reason.

Gauntlet SL30 Medium Size Game Take Down Effectiveness

Does not meet minimum legal power requirements in Texas for deer. Blast away at all the pigs you want.

Probably just disruptions from the tariffs. Give it some time, and the situation should sort out.

The one I bought last year was made in China. This is not new.

    Resources Getting into FT

It isn't cheap, but nothing is these days. Plan on a minimum of $500 rifle and $500 scope. Plus a way to air up the gun assuming you are going PCP and don't have that yet. I still have a scuba tank, but portable compressors seem to be the way to go now. Stool, sticks, and carrier can be as...

    Other Recommendations for 10yo?

HW30 or R7 will outlast them. If that is too expensive, then look into the CMP Daisy 853 refurbs.

    Break barrel safety

I had a B3 underlever slam on my thumb when I was a teenager. It left a fairly good impression on my behavior. Thumbnail grew back, but I would rather not have that happen again.
