My Air Venturi Avenger-X shoots quarter size groups at 50 yds. with Predator GTO’s. I did crown and polish the barrel, but no other modifications. Squirrels don’t stand a chance with this rifle!
By working on my air guns, I have been able to improve the accuracy on my “budget“ guns. Changing the triggers, changing scopes, polishing barrels, building scope mounts, and tightening ALL screws has made a world of differenc!
I’m thinking of polishing my Gamo barrel with valve lapping compound, Flitz, and or JB bore bright. Should I use a brush or mop? Did your groups improve after polishing? Can I hurt my barrel?
My Trail NP XL does not group well with Premier HP 14.3 grains, but shoots dime size groups at 25 yards with GTO 11.75’s. Could the light pellets exiting the muzzle before the vibrations start? Any ideas why this difference?
Avenge-X will not hold pressure. I add air to my Air Venturi Avenge -X, and by the next morning when I want to shoot, the pressure has dropped from 4,000 psi to 2,000. What o-rings do I need to replace?
Thanks for all the input! I sprang for an Avenge-X. Next question, with 15.89 gr. pellets in a 1:18 twist barrel, what regulator pressure for best accuracy do you recommend?
I ordered a trigger and asked for it to be delivered before Christmas. Cathy sent it Priority Mail and it will be here Monday. Will just send her $10 for the extra postage with my next order. This will be my third trigger. Use them!
