Hi Glenn, I don't know max range, since I got it specifically to use in the barn where I don't want a firearm punching holes in the wall and roof. They say the 18grain pellets are moving out about 1000 FPS, which also helps since it's not yet supersonic ... so no crack breaking the sound...

You are right ... a red lense works great on predators. We use em on our coyote rifles after dusk. The red lense doesn't spook them like pure white light does, but still lights up their eyes. We were thinking of what type of red cover we could put on these simple hardware store spot lights...

Oh and per the stock modification, notice I took out the finger-groove ridges on the front of the pistol grip. They didn't fit my hand and actually dug into my fingers, making them numb after sitting still for a period of time. Keeping the bottom ridge though was nice as it keeps your hand...
