    Whole lead backstop

400 pounds, think of the possibilities! Since my (literally) groundbreaking backstop is not at my home range, I think I am going to melt lead in jsb 6.35mm pellet tin. It will be plenty large for offhand training but does not cover the back of all the targets on air rifle 10m paper that I use...

    Whole lead backstop

Yes, I think hammer will also do well. Should be good excercise too.

    Whole lead backstop

The real positive side to backstop being lead that it does not seem wear out from being shot, quite the opposite!

    Whole lead backstop

Hello, I received a lead brick from one range officer for free when I mentioned I am planning to make one. I wanted to use one as bullet and pellet backstop. I have now shot it with my .25 Wildcat with 25 grainers and with PCP .17 pistol from the distance of approx. 25 meters. Below you...

    FX Wildcat .25 barrel lookup

Could it be that I have put heavier pellets to that box instead.. Been long since I shot last time so I cannot be sure. I'd guess they were the heavier ones then because I chronoed them before in the spring and velocities were correct. Thanks, I am going to fix that. But I will have to double...

    FX Wildcat .25 barrel lookup

Hello. I bought my FX Wildcat around 4 years ago and have shot it quite a lot. I love the trigger, which I have myself adjusted to slow climb first stage and then no climb break. Maybe 3-6K ammo or more through it. Broke my ankle this spring and only now got around to shooting it again...

Yes, please add thoughts here. Just read some old threads and would like to know how the gun feels now.

    Chronograph selection

Has anyone here experience about LMBR devices? They do not care about sunshine. I have heard only good reviews about it. https://chrono.lmbr.pl/products.html

Torque settings for FX no limit rings and PCP in general

Once again I come shining in with my ignorance. I just bought an approx 240$ torque wrench (Hazet 5107) and checked my hand-set torques on my optics. It seems I had my scope rings set with less than 6in/lb and I had still always carried the gun from the scope without changes to zero. The...

    Crosswind vertical deflection

I take notes and also often record each hit when I am at the 50m range. I guess I need to focus more to this side and observe. At the moment I have at 35% Maybe I will test it by calculating the POI with and without it and see which hit comes closest to the bull and start improving from there.

    Crosswind vertical deflection

Has anybody gathered data on this? Or have any feelings based data to provide? Guesses? Since the spinning does not stop easily and the bullet loses velocity quickly, does not the deflection grow with the distance and thus a stationary ratio is not maybe the best way? Are there people here...

    Crosswind vertical deflection

@Dustman The same idea is working when you throw a (mainly a basket or tennis) ball with a spin to obtain a curve in flight. You add twist to the ball and the surface friction of the ball turns that spinning energy into horizontal or vertical movement!

    Ok. Which theory wins?

Basically heavier pellets have longer flight time. But the ratio that which the wind affects it during the longer flight time is less than the added momentum gained from increased weight. With rifles, I think there are certain priorities decided for projectiles to meet. 1. Has enough terminal...

    Crosswind vertical deflection

Hi, I think many shooters here have Strelok and have ran into the Vertical deflection of crosswind settings. And I assume most have swayed away from it. The idea behind it stands that no matter where the wind is blowing from, it always deflects the bullet up or down because the rifling works...

    question...mounting atlas bipod to wildcat

Check Atlas BT15. It has 1 hole for screw, 1 long line for easier screw positioning for the second screw and also one hole for fast unlock rifle sling. Only bad is that it does not include screws so you will need to google for proper ones. This sling has the QD adapter. They have ball bearing...

    FX hand-pump problem

Came across this while searching the forum.. This might be caused by the FX pump 2 stage piston screwing out of the position. I suspect this because A) No air is coming out or leaking B) You still use force to pump (You are pressurising pretty much the same air over and over) C) You can maybe be...

Have you looked at lmbr R2 chrono? I have lately been considering to buy it.

    Atlas V8 or PSR

@Tominco You obviously missed the pigeon with the gopro.. Hurry up with the release! And I have always wondered how the spiked Atlas feet behave under recoil. I ought to think that they would do good while the legs are at 90° but how would they act with the legs pivoted at 45° forward?

    Atlas V8 or PSR

Never had V8 but bought the PSR model about a year ago. I upgraded from Harris and I do prefer the non rotating legs. I hated the rotating legs, they are ok on the range but at my home range there is an 7 degree angle downwards to the target so the rifle started rolling away from me. I hate...
