    Slugs Vs Regular pellets

No fair. I'm in Alaska which is as far away from Florida as you can get without leaving the continent.

    Solid Slugs

So far, the Griffin ones look the best. Thanks.

    Solid Slugs

Why don't they make solid (non-HP) slugs in .25 and .30 calibers? I found a few but the calibers are just a hair larger (.257 & .308) than I can use.

    Any guns you regret buying"

I love my little AEA HP SS .30 caliber. I like to tinker and once you learn to work on it and get it right, it's great. Much cheaper than the FX guns.

Anybody regret adding an aftermarket regulator?

I'm looking to get a huma regulator for my AEA HP SS .30 cal. Can't find a single video on it. Want to know if it helps solve the problems with the semi auto?

    Umarex HDP lost power

I would take it apart again and check that all the seals are in place.

    AEA FPE vs Caliber

To tell the truth, I'm not 100% sure what the actual fpe is for mine. I don't have a chronograph. I'm going off the specifications posted at dealer websites for best guess. https://www.aeaprecisionairguns.com/products/hp-series-semiauto-ss This is the fps/fpe listed at a few sites. 670 fps/...

    AEA FPE vs Caliber

It's an AEA HP SS .30. Can probably get a bit more power by making it bolt action but without a longer barrel, it's stuck around 40ish fpe. As far as accuracy goes, this little thing is wicked.

    AEA FPE vs Caliber

LOL. 20-30 yards is what I hunt spruce hens at. I could take the longer shots but prefer to get up close.

    AEA FPE vs Caliber

This is not theoretical. I have 2 air guns that fire at different speeds. The .30 cal is much slower than the .25 cal which explains the .30 having less power. The question is simple. Would you rather hunt with a small light weight 40 fpe .30 or a larger heavier 49 fpe .25?

    AEA FPE vs Caliber

AEA HP SS .30 which has an 8 inch barrel. Also have a Hatsan Bullboss .25 which hits harder. Got them for small game hunting.

    AEA FPE vs Caliber

What is more important, FPE or larger caliber? I have a 30 caliber putting out 40 FPE. Also have a .25 caliber doing 49 FPE. Larger caliber creates wider wound channel but smaller caliber travels much faster and hits harder. I'm thinking the .25 would be better over all but I could be wrong.

Western Airguns Just for hunting purposes, under which circumstances you would choose another rifle.....?

Which are you most accurate with and more comfortable shooting/carrying? That's the one I would use. I have a Hatsan Bullboss .25 and an AEA HP SS .30 that are both around 40ish fpe. The Bullboss has a bit more power and range but I carry the AEA for small game because it's lighter and more...

Has the .30 Cal the best possible we could expect from a .25 Cal?

LOL. Nope. 😁 My "mama" died 43 years ago. Just tired and cranky from work.

Has the .30 Cal the best possible we could expect from a .25 Cal?

The fact that you hooked up a camera to do this tells me exactly the type of "hunter" you are. I hunt to eat, not show off. Been doing it with guns and bows for 50+ years now and have picked up a bit of experience. I'm an old fashion hunter, not a yuppie sportsman.

Only a matter of time before they use PCPs in the military…

They were used when the best military rifles were black powder muzzleloaders. Other than training (basic rifle marksmanship maybe?), there is no realistic place for them on the modern battlefield. Maybe the Space Force can use them in orbit? 🤣

Only a matter of time before they use PCPs in the military…

Actually, Napoleon didn't do it. The Austrian military used them against the French/Napoleon during that conflict. Napoleon thought the air rifles were so dangerous that he ordered anyone caught with one was to be executed. I just learned about PCP's a few years ago and have done a lot of...

Only a matter of time before they use PCPs in the military…

Not practical for the military. Refilling the air tank during combat is too problematic. Air rifles are excellent for civilian use but the modern battlefields are another story. Been there, done that. 😁

Has the .30 Cal the best possible we could expect from a .25 Cal?

The concept of "ethical kill" has gotten ridiculous. Bows and traps don't deliver your instant kill shot. That's why we learned about following blood trails and finding what we shoot. The larger caliber/more power argument comes from laziness and lack of skill. If someone doesn't know how to...
