Ricochet from a lead pellet all the way back to me?!

An eighteen year old we knew from church lost his life with a ricochet off of a steel hanging plate. He was shooting a regular longarm, not an airgun. Apparently, somehow his payload hit at a very very unlikely angle/spot. Hit him directly in the heart. He lasted a few minutes. I do not, and...

Silly thought from a new guy

What if! Airgun barrels were truly standardized to inside diameter(i.e., 5.52 for .22) aaand... Pellets were made sabot style so standardized barrels could seal better aaand.... Eliminate pellets moving down that barrel inconsistently. I mean, they do it with rifled shotgun barrels.... Just...

Pellets - what would you do different when first buying pellets?

I do not really have all the experience with pellets that you guys and gals do, but with one recommendation from 'Toasty, I shot the Crosman HP Pellets and found them to be decent quality, and priced low enough for my retirement income level. Now, because I am new I simply am not qualified to...

    Shouldn't have done that...

Just starting out. I remember the insanity in which I engaged while doing both compound and traditional archery. You just cannot believe all the little trinket I "just HAD to have." In this iteration, Señor Toasty suggested the Crosman HP. I have shot two pellets ONLY because I have not washed...

    Lube for pellets for Springers

I had planned on washing, drying and lubing pellets, not just for accuracy...but also to protect the barrel. Once they are washed, they will be awwwfully dry. I checked the ingredients on the two items posted. One contains petroleum distillates, the other often has orange oil. While I am...

    Lube for pellets for Springers

....with a twist. I have Chemical Sensitivity. This means no fragrances, or I could have breathing issues. So...pledge is out. Anyone know of a lube that is o-ring safe, has a wax component which is compatible with springers, that is fragrance free? Any help is appreciated.

Should I lube Pellets after washing them

Because I am new and shooting a springer, what I have read so far seems to indicate washing is a plus. As to lube, well, I have a little problem...I have MCS. Cannot STAND fragrances, some can cause breathing issues, so Pledge is a major no no. Can anyone recommend a waxy lube that's not fragranced?

    Hunting versus Killing

I spent a year plus flyfishing the Pennsylvania Limestoners for both wild and stocked Brown Trout. Initially, I moved there simply to get away from NJ. Any way, I started with a Wally World fiberglass fly rod better suited to flogging largemouth bass in the head, but somehow in a matter of...

    They almost made it legal...

Numerous news articles popping up, on CUE as it were, citing damage and shootings relative to air rifles/pellet guns/bb guns. You know, almost like if the news was "structured" to introduce the next excuse so that they can claim the public is just slathering for more laws in this area. It is...
