    Sightron S6 field target

cavedweller, I also purchased a new BRK Ghost in .177 hp. Comparing it to my Thomas now for about 3 months I honestly believe it is just as accurate. It is about 4 lbs lighter than my Thomas which does help me on the forced positions with the Slll and big S6. The Ghost will likely be...

WFTF Worlds results day 1,2 & 3 finals...

Congratulations to the U.S piston team. Six places out if the Top 10 is Domination! Especially when you have the top three positions locked up. Great Job Cameron taking you 2nd World Championship. In second Ken Hughes and our North East Leo Gonzales in 3rd place. Our PCP Team did pretty well...

    Sightron vs. athlon?

I agree the reticle is so fine that one can get lost on dark targets. The so called lighted reticle is only the dot that lights up. I shipped mine back because I found it unfriendly to use in HFT but I guess some do well with it.

    Sightron vs. athlon?

I agree the big S6 10-60x56 was not designed for Hunter Field target. Mine has what I call a dead spot that take up 2 inches of the wheel between 47.5 yards and 50 yards. Haven't tried it over 16X so maybe I will try that unlimited class next year. Would likely work well for ERB also. The S6...

Yet another selfless contribution to the FT and AGN community

Do you think that 2 shots/target should be mandatory at the Nationals? Scott, That has always been the way nationals have been run in the 17 that I have attended. When you change the rules to favor one class over another, one might be on a slippery slope. We all know why but it could of been...

Yet another selfless contribution to the FT and AGN community

Many people don't complain until their boat is rocked. Seeing a rule that technically was not complicit has no reason to concern anyone then no one might be concerned. Jump ahead four years and you see the 2024 rule above might get you scratching your head a bit? Then three months later one of...

Yet another selfless contribution to the FT and AGN community

It is strange to me that AFFTA would call out the one shot per target at a GP in 2024 and label it 2024 rule changes. The fact that the rules use to say no more than 2 shots per lane which is not exactly explicit. Over the years much verbiage has been changed to make the rules easier to...

Scott, searching for the rule change you mention I managed to get connected to Airgun Warriors. (Yesterday I tried numerous times but got a message that the website had a critical error message) After doing some searching I found this announcement on Jan 2, 2024. At the bottom of this post...

Yet another selfless contribution to the FT and AGN community

Scott H, Please don't let my rambling reflect on you. You have always been one of my favorite FT people. I just can't find in the rules Common or GP rules that a match course can be set up for the WFTF class and the other two classes must shoot it. In 2016 a revision was made listed as the...

Yet another selfless contribution to the FT and AGN community

Scott, This seems like another "Who came first the chicken or the egg" The hunter class has been the biggest class in AFFTA for many years now. To expect some of the oldest Hunter competitors to run a 25 target course shooting two shots per lane at our Nationals is a little presumptuous...

Yet another selfless contribution to the FT and AGN community

Just for poops and giggles how did the new rule in Janurary make it to the rules book to allow a club hosting a National to change it's venue to favor the WFTF class? The Match Director put a stop to that BS and was the right thing to do. Quick rule changes like that one doesn't help place trust...

    AAFTA GP course optimization

The middle of our Country likely has the least amount of Airgun Competitors. AFFTA use to spread it out (East, West, South, PR) based on which club wants to host it and have the land and facilities to handle a 100 + shooters. As I understand last year there were only two clubs that matched...

Time to combine Open and Hunter?

The Open class has never been in favor of Hunter class shooters joining their ranks. Frankly, I say we don't need them. Let them fade away as their Piston Class did. If they want to comply with our rules they can join Hunter PCP or Piston anytime! How's that for a "About Face" I'll even throw in...

    AAFTA GP course optimization

There is a lot of thought going on here and most of it seems rational. To me shooting a number of GP's to determine the National GP Champion is one thing. Attending a two day National and winning your class is difference because you scored the highest scores over two days on the same lanes as...

    Sightron S6 10-60x56

Cavedweller, I apoligize for not getting back to you Monday night. Life kinda got in the way. Today I have been trying to respond to you by PM but I seem to of lost that ability. Would it be possible to correspond by e-mail. [email protected] Regards, Bill

    Sightron S6 10-60x56

Cavedeweller, Your analysis of the Top Sightron S-6 runs parallel with my observation of the S6 5-32x56 SFP I mentioned on this forum a couple weeks ago. I was about to re-mortgage the house when I first started reading your recent posts. I do think the illuminated reticle on yours is much...

    Sightron S6 10-60x56

Thanks for the S6 model 66007 review so far. I love that lighted reticle. My 5-35x60 S6 has only the center dot lit and had difficulty with it this weekend on the darker targets in the shadow lanes. Using holdover was very hard for me to see where I was on the target. It seems to me that even my...

    Sightron S6 field target

Mr. Robinson, and Mr. Hull, If the powers to be wanted us Hunter competitors to play the big scope game they would lift our power restrictions. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper to continue to beg them again for a change instead of wasting money on scopes that will never work as they should...

Athlon Ares ETR UHD 15-60x30mm SFP

I am planning on it. Right now I'm just getting use to my relatively new Sightron S6 5-35 x 56 SFP. Already I like the Locking windage turret that the Sightron didn't offer. It (Athlon Ares ETR SFP) comes with a 5" steel wheel that attaches without burggering up the factory turret. It does...
