    Hornets nest

Go at night. Make a swift attack with spray for say 5 seconds. Run like hell back indoors. The next day, observe the nest and repeat that evening till your following daytime observation reveals no activity. Then I would soak it good with wasp spray. Doing it naked in daylight would add some...

    Buying used rifles

I have had mostly good luck on AGN Classifieds, eBay, and Gunbroker. The issue is always with the seals unless they are specifically listed as resealed. If they list as Parts, you can often get a good deal; not so much for me, as I have to send them off for the repair. Often, the ad is vague...

    Other Threaded barrel options?

How about the HW30, HW50, and HW80 that come with a sound moderator? Airguns of Arizona has them.

What was your first Pellet Rifle?

I bought a Crossman 140 in 1970, which used to be my dad's. I'm not sure of the year of manufacture. My first springer was a Hy-Score 807.

    Tuning Do springs age out?

I think they lose a little bit of power over time. I had a Daisy 111 I sent to Dennis Baker to reseal and put in a new spring. He just did the reseal, and he got about 210 fps. I asked him to put in a new spring, and he got 249 fps. Granted, the Daisy 111 was about 60 years old, so I'm not sure...

Anywhere I can find HW30S synthetic in US?

Do not understand. He gets them new at a discount from Pyramid Air and then sells them for the same price as Pyramid Air. He makes the money off the small discount he gets from Pyramid Air. Why would you get a discount if it takes away most of his profit and he still has to pay for the tune from...

Anywhere I can find HW30S synthetic in US?

Wrong. I called Mike. He is a Pyramid Air Dealer. He gets the brand new R7 and R9 for a small discount, throws in a tune, and guarantees them for life. He told me his profit margin and it is pretty small. He is only allowed to sell the R7 and R9. Great honest guy to deal with and his R7 and R9s...

    N/A Webley Hurricane

I guess 365 fps with hobbys is sufficient for target practice and plinking within the accuracy range of the gun. Not going to use if for pesting.

Anywhere I can find HW30S synthetic in US?

Buy from Flying Dragons Airguns. Mike has the R7 for the same price as Pyramid Air, but he tunes them. https://flyingdragonairrifles.org/blog/?p=1768

    N/A Webley Hurricane

I recently had my Tempest resealed, but I'm only getting 365 fps with Hobbys. I do get 425 fps with 5 gr RWS. Something is off, but I have no idea.

    Shooting Airgun in residential neighbourhood

My city in the northwest metro Atlanta allows airguns and slingshots, provided you have a safe backstop on your yard. . The law is antiquated as the town has become much denser in population, but so far is under the radar of the City Council. Just will take one complaint, and shooting them will...

    N/A Crosman 140,Fourth Variant?

I am a klutz on fine mechanics and failed with my first reseal job, so I use a vendor. Mike Baker has been honest, talented, and reasonable on Crossman and Sheridan guns he resealed for me. He has resealed several of my Crossman guns plus a Sheridan that was not worth fixing, that he replaced...

Can you recommend an informative, comprehensive and well written text book on air rifle shooting?

Although not a book, I have found a lot of information and advice reading Tom Gaylord's posts, which, besides reviews, has a lot of guidance on airguns use and maintenance. He has 687 posts. There are other resources too in the Pyramid Air Resources section. You can use the search function to...

    The Fabulous Diana 27

I had a Hy-Score 807 in 177 in the early 70s. It was rated at 690 fps and bought over the mail from an outdoor company that is no longer in business. I did find an old ad for one at 177.
