But… the FX Halo looks to be imminent and are promised to make pellets redundant! Assuming they are the magical panacea, will they be classified as pellets or slugs, from the perspective of contests?

The only time I’ve had clipping with the GK1 was when the last section of an impulse air moderator became loose. Over 11000 rounds now and no problems.

They seem to favor lower speed (885-900). I’m not sure what you mean by one “beating” the other, but the Altaros will only lose out in terms of fpe at the muzzle. If you need to get the same fpe as the 34grain at 1000fps, then shoot the Altaros 40 grain at 900fps.

I can’t imagine that there is better advice than to go figure out how to operate your $2k gun!
