A day at the range with a Slayer...

The FAQ section on their website gives some cleaning instructions using a bronze brush. It was also recommended to try .358 in The NSA 142. Mine was about the same as yours with .357 in various slugs, but started to tighten a bit with .358 and a good cleaning.

A day at the range with a Slayer...

I just shot around 50 rounds through my slayer and put it on the bench to clean it. Do you guys clean from muzzle end with a bore guide or take the barrel off?

Does the slayer come with a cheek rest or do you just use the picatinny rail to rest your cheek?

    American Air Arms .357 Slayer

I looked back a few posts and seen the recommendation to email customer support. I sent email and got a reply the next day. Good news it should only be 3-4 weeks out now.

    American Air Arms .357 Slayer

Hoping to get mine soon after seeing this post. I was able to call Tom in January and February to get an ETA of March, but have not been able get a return call this month after quite a few messages being left. I will try to patiently wait, but easier said than done!

    Western Airguns Rattler .357

I talked to service and they said it could be do to a heavy assembly grease and cold weather, or an internal adjustment that would need to go back to service to get fixed. I tried it in slightly warmer weather and it operated correctly. I went out a couple weeks ago in 40 degree temps and it...

A day at the range with a Slayer...

Has anyone tested accuracy difference in the same mold from with hollow point and without? I now have the the NOE mold mentioned above and definitely a bit of a learning curve with the NOE hollow point pins. I have done some research and think I can improve on my no go rate now that gets melted...

    Western Airguns Rattler .357

Has anybody had the rattler not cycle correctly. I just took mine out in cold weather an it would shoot the first trigger pull the the second trigger pull no bullet the third it would fire. This cycle happened for for several magazines. Just wondering if it needs lubed or out of time or...

Ordered this one last night, they were out of the 174 or I would have grabbed it also. Thanks for posting the mould number earlier.

A day at the range with a Slayer...

That is a nice group. Looks like I will need to get some dies ordered. I found out the Slayer wasn't actually in stock like it showed on the website, I guess there was a mix-up somehow. Tom said about a month so i will do my best to wait patiently.

    Questions about the new Texans

Well the machine shop is doable, but decent skill is debatable. Is there a metal rail in the stock the dovetail slides into?

    Questions about the new Texans

Is the maddog stock the only way to stiffen the frame? I have three AF Texans and would love to find an inexpensive solution.

My AF CF 50 has only been out a couple short sessions but seems not to have that issue.

I have Texan 357 that would shoot a decent 3 shot group the first time then progressively open up every group after that until I scrubbed the devil out of it and repeat the same routine. I did a JB Bore cleaner light hand lap and it definitely cleaned easier and lasted a little longer before it...

    Questions about the new Texans

What kind of groups do you get at 100yds? About where do you set the hammer spring wheel? I have the 500gr Lee mould and have only had mine out a few times in cold weather, but it I got a few 3-4" groups at 100yds tethered. Just wondering if this is good as it gets?

I have the Lee 500gr mould and without any tuning in 20 degree weather it is shooting a 3-4" group at a 100yds. Like others said it takes tons of air and lots of lead but it is fun. I ended up powder coating the bullets I cast after having some rough Air force Barrels, and was tired of scrubbing...

Just a heads up there is some recoil with this gun. It's not violent like a magnum powder burner, but may be bit more than I would put my mother behind!

Has anyone tried the Lee 158gr flat nose moulds with the Slayer? I have had decent results with them in the Texan.

Does anyone have experience with a Diana Chaser? Looking for low-power, quiet, simple, and fun.

I bought the Chaser in .177 a while back in the rifle kit. I immediately installed the longer barrel and was very impressed with accuracy out to 30yds. It was pretty quiet, definitely backyard friendly.
