    Airforce Testing 450gr in the tex-rex 50cal

He needs a level on the rifle! When watching the shots you can predict the point of impact befor trigger is pressed because the top line on his reticle was not aligned in the same spot for each shot at the 60., shots 2&3 accuracy is strictly a factor of the rifles cant. The accuracy of the...

N/A Big Bore Photo Thread -Yeah It’s Time to Show Off Your Big Boy Toys!

AirForce Texan LSSCF .510. Heavily modified and very accurate at distances that defy the limitations of air rifle norms. When tethered, my 5-shot extreme spreads are typically 3fps. a. Muzzle energy: 801 (FPE). Accuracy tune. (385gr Mr.HP at 968fps) b. Muzzle energy over 1,000 (FPE) is doable...

RAW's Cameron Kerndt Takes Gold in Long-Range at Oregon Competition

Well not exactly vertical, but shooting up hill indeed. We built two ranges locally and this particular spot has elevated targets from 600 out to 1,000yds.

lol… ya I don’t shoot ground squirrels with a .510 cal. Not with any expectation of harvesting the meat! Also not a good idea to launch a 300+ gr. slug at a bird, too much damage to the meat and not enough mass in that bird to stop… or even slow the slug. Over penetration is a real concern here...

RAW's Cameron Kerndt Takes Gold in Long-Range at Oregon Competition

I appreciate the info. I've never competed in a sanctioned event and don't know the rules, distances, shot count, spotter, etc. No sighters clearly adds to any challenge, we all know it's easier to guarantee impacts if you can take a few practice shots beforehand. I keep my rifle zeroed for...

RAW's Cameron Kerndt Takes Gold in Long-Range at Oregon Competition

Long range… It’s a hobby for me, a hobby I take seriously and enjoy very much. Is kinda like golf, but for men. If that offends you somehow there is nothing I can say. As for trolling, you asked for the flight time, and you said the round would end up in the dirt in front of the target. Here is...

RAW's Cameron Kerndt Takes Gold in Long-Range at Oregon Competition

Frank, Per your request… Time Of Flight = 2.1 sec. Silhouette was slightly over 200’ of vertical elevation and 1800’ from shots origin, impact at 4:30 o’clock, 3” out from center/600yd silhouette is 12”X20”. So shooting up hill and round did not land short of target in the dirt… per your...

Are you limited to 3000 psi per competition rules, or is that simply were your rifle is tuned for best accuracy? If for some reason, the competition is limiting you too 3000 psi, that rules me out, way out! I’m running 4700 psi.

What made you decide on your big bore choice for hunting?

I’ve never had an o-ring blow on the Texan. If you leave them alone they are very reliable. When you start adding exotic parts… you will see exotic problems.

What made you decide on your big bore choice for hunting?

Just a little fyi; when you properly tune the Texan for the slug you select for hunting, the rifle will easily shoot 1” groups at 100 yards. My rifle has a lot of mods, so it’s a bit of an air hog, but when shooting the 385gr. Mr HP macros at 950fps, three shots at 100 yards never exceed a 1”...

What made you decide on your big bore choice for hunting?

I chose the AirForce Texan LSSCF in a .50 cal for multiple reasons. First being the accuracy, to get an ethical kill you need a rifle that puts the round in the same spot every time. Second is clearly knock down power… not the other way around. I also have a Zeus .72 cal and it’s Ridonculous...
