We Brits may be odd bur we shoot loads of pests, using 12ft lb rifles. I always use a camo face cover, full camo coat and gloves. Two hide poles, a length of camo netting with a scrim net and I'm enjoying myself.

I'm from the UK and we don't have a grey squirrel season, but reds are fully protected and cannot be culled at any time. I shoot greys all through the year, mainly over feeders filled with wheat or peanuts.

Has anyone used a .410 shotgun to shoot squirrels over feeders? I generally us an FX Impact or Crown in .22 but miss many days due to wet and windy weather. If you have used .410 over squirrel feeders do you find the louder report puts the squirrels off compared to the quieter air rifle?

With the limit in UK (unless unless you are on FAC) being up to 12 ft lb anything other than brain shots on squirrels etc. is useless. I use heart and lung shots on corvids etc. but only head (brain) shots on squirrels. A squirrel on a feeder stands stock still when eating wheat,. peanuts etc...

I use a Daiwa carp barrow to cart all my decoying kit. A godsend where I have to walk several fields. I also use it to cart deer and call it my fallow barrow.
