HW75 putting in the work - iguana and starling today

I'd always hesitated to use anything smaller than a 12+FPE gun for ANY hunting, until this forum convinced me that shot placement really can make a theoretically underpowered gun do just fine. Accordingly, I've been pesting my back yard for invasives using the HW75 the majority of the time...

Well, that was surprisingly graphic... Starling

For those of you who REALLY hate these critters. . . Merry Christmas. The .22 Leshiy Classic did it's work fine with a cheap 'ol CPHP.

Starling Break (AKA : Backyard hunting with the HW75 )

I'm finding myself getting two or more of these every day here lately. The work area in the house overlooks the backyard, so every time I see a starling (or ten) fly in I take a short break to walk outside and eliminate one more of 'em. Really enjoy the HW 75 for this, makes it a bit of a...

Tested & Recommended: My favorite 11mm to picatinny snap-in adapter

I've tried just about everything out there on the market, and these are, by far, my favorite solution to adapting a picatinny mount optic to an 11mm dovetail on my guns. Why? Height over bore! These keep your optic low, and that height over bore down so your POI shift is minimized at closer...

PCP Pistol Hatsan Jet II .22 Black (Price Reduced)

Standard Jet II, in black, it has had moderator attached, and a red dot, but otherwise unmolested and in fine shape, always kept in the safe, and I've shot a hundred rounds or so through it, the gun functions flawlessly. Also have added a little hidden gaffer's tape under the stock to make it...

Before and After : .22 Crossman Premier Domes

Was sighting in the Hatsan Jet 2 this morning with a new red dot, and when the velocity dropped near the end of my shooting, the pellets started to stop while stuck in the rubber of the backstops. The results were clean and symmetrical enough I found them pretty cool, so I figured I'd share...

    Iguana Downrange!!! (Taco Thursday!)

This BIG egg filled lizard destroyed my 15x15 screened in gazebo tent sunning itself as I watched (them darn razorblade claws just shred stuff!) and then made it's way down to my shooting range. That wasn't a particularly good choice! Normally I can't safely take these in the neighborhood...

    Enjoying my new 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 yard setup

I'm so stoked to have a range with a variety of distances to switch between as I shoot. I went out this afternoon and set up a handful of aspirin at 20 and a few targets throughout the range - was a very enjoyable 30 minutes of shooting, and I'm feeling more confident than ever in my...

    New lead-free depletalloy pellets

Finally, a solution to everyone's needs! These new pellets, made of a new-to-the-industry totally lead-free alloy will captivate the attention of everyone who cares about the environment! Unlike traditional lead-free alloys, which have a variety of well known issues, these lead-free...

    Hatsan Jet ( 1 & 2) - MAJOR upgrade for $0.05

I decided that I wanted the Jet 2 and a Notos... The Jet 2 arrived today - and ... Not bad! Better than expected in fact. However, there was one MAJOR issue I just had to resolve - and that's the stock wobbling like a cheap pile of crap. Having dealt with this on my AEA previously, I had a...

    Wildlife Wonderland

I figured I'd share some shots I got the other morning when I went out with the camera instead of the rifle. It seems like every time I'm out there reducing the bushytail population, I'm treated to an endless parade of birds of various sorts, and some fairly interesting ones occasionally too...

    Tastiest Tree Rats

The downside of having tree rats in your avocado tree is that they have a very frustrating habit of taking a bite or two out of everything on the tree. The upside? Avocado fed squirrel is fat and VERY tasty. I'm a big fan of squirrel carnitas tacos. -- Naturally, served with fresh guacamole. :)

    Uragan 2 King .22 - Quick test

Just got the pellets that are recommended by Talon Tunes for this gun, and they're shooting pretty good. Will be comparing to the slighter lighter ones soon. I did a 'quick' 62 shot test, just to see how they were shooting, with the target hung loosely at 20 yards - with a light breeze that had...

A new range favorite? The Uragan 2 King .22

Is this the new range favorite? Yes. Yes it is. Glorious accuracy, and just absolutely silly capacity, topped off by being tuned to a slamming 40 ft/lb by Tony at TalonTunes - I can't say enough good about them or this gun - the entire experience was fantastic and I'm loving this setup for my...

What a winter it will be! The target range just got a major upgrade

We had a BLAST today. Paintballs from the bench rest for hours with six different guns, and rinse downs with cans full of water and the .30 HP SS MAX :-) Also built a game where the paintball is moving down a track so you have to hit it on the move, but it needs some major fine tuning still.. :)

    Moving targets

Other than the really silly expensive airgun version of the Texas Star, what options exist out there for moving targets?

Backyard Recycling & Data Security - Full Auto Style!!!

I wanted to see how many cans I could get in one mag of .22 with the Hatsan Blitz, and I had a phone I needed to destroy, so - what better way than a high-speed .30 caliber lead hammer and a bit of water on it? The AEA HP MAX really is a ton of fun for silly stuff like this. Man, I'm loving...

What was the first semi automatic pellet gun?

Ostensibly, the Crosman 600 was the first semi automatic pellet pistol, and came around in the 60's, but what was the first semi automatic pellet rifle? I got the rare Google "Oh, that's not on the internet, please help us to get an answer" response when I googled it. :-) So, what was it? :)

My small slice of heaven in the city (Looking forward to winter!)

So, I've finished my backyard range and hangout area, and wanted to share a few pics of the first 'range day' and some of the before/during/after stuff because I'm just so darn happy and proud of it - it's not perfect, by any means, but certainly does the job, and having added a FAN out there at...

WTS: Hatsan Blitz .22 w/5 mags & DFL adapter $600 (FREE SHIPPING!)

I bought this refurbished, and, it has exactly met my expectations - which is to say, as long as you keep it clean, and treat it right, it'll shoot pretty reliably, but, the Blitz is just known to have the occasional stoppage, and so on, and this one is no different. Overall a fun gun, but just...
