Had a talk with GAMO this morning. They never had any experience of a rifle barrel (that holds the scope mounts) deform. Also, changing the barrel would be expensive. Suggested trying different mounts and rings. I'll think about it and your suggestions. Thanks.

Had a lot of trouble getting a mount to say firm on a GAMO springer. After many tries, I think the problem is that the dovetail rails are deformed and therefore all the mounts do not say put. After 4 or 5 shots the mounts slide toward the stock. Loctite does not make any difference. Cleaned...

Thought the barrel was deformed as the cause of loose mounts so I canceled the sale. But GAMO said they never heard of the barrel (dovetail slots) deforming. So if anyone wants this gun its still up for sale and I'll pay 1/2 the shipping cost.

GAMO was sure that the rounding of the hole was my fault. I was pretty religious about keeping the rings/mounts tight to the receiver. If I sent it back to GAMO, it would cost me around $80 if they fix it. Just not worth the time and cost. Let me know how drilling another recoil hole works...

Took off the scope and mount and the recoil pin hole is clearly deformed. Called Gamo a number of times this morning, but couldn't get anyone. it's under warranty and this gun should be replaced. Man, this airgun thing was supposed to be a relaxing hobby!
