    COYOTE HUNTING

running a .22-250 starts with fast, flat shooting out to 300 yards, but if that coyote closes to 60 yards, you, reach down, grab and shoulder a shotgun, reacquire the target, and fire—taking 2 to 4 seconds—while the PCP shooter with a smart optic like the Zulus stays on target the whole time...

    COYOTE HUNTING

it's not just about the FPE its aslo the energy dump, a PB like a 22- 250 is more likely to just pass through with no energy dump at 200 yards and less. Pcps can't match the power but how the slug will react compare to that of a PB will have more control/ expansion. because of pure lead.

    COYOTE HUNTING

my .308 Texan with 150gr 325 fpe or so at 980ish fps. at 100-yard mark around 260 fpe VS At 100 yards, a standard .22 LR round may retain around 90 FPE, we live in a valley so shots echo alot . With a Yokozuna it takes the sharp crack out of it so it doesn't echo. I have taken shots and i...

    COYOTE HUNTING

In some states you can't use a moderator on PB. I live in a 3-county farm land area and now days at least around here you touch off a PB at night even if it's legal it will have the state police looking for you. The longest shot here will be around 200 yards so the right tool would be a PCP for...

    COYOTE HUNTING

What has happened to it? I joined one site that I thought was going to be the one, and I did realize that it was mostly PB's. As soon as i mentioned PCP I felt a shift start to happen 'you are under powered, you will have to get inside 50 yards? I have a Texan pushing 150gr at 990 fps. Then it...

How a moderator affects your zero or POI

A few weeks ago, I was wondering how a moderator effects POI on my setup. Texan 308 and Yokozuna were about 10 fps slower with it but, I feel it was justified by taking up some of the sharp crack and being able to tighten up my groups. The only change was the drop in fps.
