    Moderator Comparison Spread Sheet

Yeah, it would be nice if it was simple. Still, there should be some value in comparing moderator efficiency on specific guns with specific tunes. Unless the difference is only a couple three dB between them all. But I suspect it would be a decent way to sort out the crappy ones from the...

    Robotic Pest Control

It depends on how they "taught" it to recognize the mummys. The algorithms for recognition are fairly advanced. It could be as easy as feeding a lot of different images from a lot of different angles of the thing you want to be the target.

New here but trying to sell air gun

I successfully sold an airgun and purchased an airgun accessory here after roughly a dozen posts so don't let anyone tell you it's not possible. Some people believe seniority matters and will always try to drive away the new guys. There are other places where people primarily buy/sell/trade...

Why do you remove the price?

I like this idea. If not an archive section then at least mark it something like "EXP" for expired so it doesn't show up in current for sale searches.

    Moderator Comparison Spread Sheet

That would be cool, you'll need a genuine sound meter to capture the actual difference in performance, Smartphone mics need not apply. Think something like a calibrated Bruel & Kjaer meter. But it will get complicated quickly because, as @WI_Hedgehog points out, simply pushing less or more air...

Sight screw plugs after removing the iron sights.

Are they headless, cheese head, flat? M5x0.8 is definitely more common. A quick search finds these. I'd have to crack open a higher octane google-fu to find more. https://belmetric.com/m5x0-5-fine-allen-set-screw-stud-45h-din-913-flat-point/

Why do you remove the price?

Guilty, I did that here. But I corrected it once someone reminded me by asking if it was available. I see prices remove from sold goods at a lot of sites (not here). I agree it's annoying and it would be better just to remove the whole listing.

Sight screw plugs after removing the iron sights.

A thread checker might be useful. Then you might be able to get what you need out of a parts bin at an orange box store or an Ace. I've bought set screws, like 4-40x3/16, for other weapons at local hardware stores once identified...

    What\'s it worth?

This guy sold one back in January. He was asking $3k but he included a lot more in the package than just a gun and he knew exactly how many pellets had been fired through it. No idea how much he actually sold it for, could have been the $3k he was asking but could have been less as well...

This is What a Scam Attempt Looks Like

Well that's disappointing. We'll have to find another witch to burn now.

I use qwerty backwards that way it's harder to guess.

Why I’m a fanatic about index marks

The only problem with rubber or soft materials between the mating surfaces is they may not provide a consistent "cocentricity" especially as they wear over time. In the world of normal moderators even wave washers are not ideal. They're great for keeping thread protectors tight but not...

Why I’m a fanatic about index marks

This isn't uncommon with normal moderators and I have seen it surmised that air (flash) passing the projectile inside the moderator compresses/bounces off minuscule differences in baffle apertures and "shapes" the flight of the projectile. No proof, only theory. As oldcrow suggests, harmonics...

2 air guns I will never get rid of,

My perception of a beater just got upgraded (downgraded?).

2 air guns I will never get rid of,

I struggle with this fairly often and look for something I can throw in the back of the truck or in the back of the mule and let the grand nieces and grand nephews run wild with it in the woods. The problem I have now is what I consider to be a "beater" 'is something like a Benjamin pump. :D

    Beeman R7 / .177 Value

Not to sound too cliche but the truth is it is worth what the market will pay or for whatever price you're willing to let it go. Me personally, for this rifle, if I wasn't using it and it was just sitting in a closet I would be comfortable listing the rifle by itself for $325 shipped CONUS...

two new air pistols gifted from a neighbor

Da**it! That's my dad. He's supposed to be holding onto those for me. I'm driving over there right after work today to get this sorted! j/k :) I would hazard a guess he's getting just as much joy seeing those guns go to a good home as you are receiving them.

    A Living Room Pellet Trap

That's the reason I use a steel plate from the orange box hardware store. The pellets spatter instead of bounce. But, unless you contain the spatter, little bits of lead end up everywhere. That's why I was thinking some kind of foam to trap the spatter bits. My steel is mounted in an old milk...
