Not pretty-but functional, Trash can Sheridan gets new sights

Beautifully done, I enjoy seeing things brought back to life after being abused and actually do a fair amount of restoration work myself. I wouldn’t paint it but refinishing the stock would be worthwhile. Rick H.

    Pest gun question

Evening everyone, My brother was telling me yesterday that he is having a bit of a pest problem, specifically with armadillos. He has the odd chipmunk or squirrel problem but we have enough raptors living around us that keep those problems under control so we don’t have to worry. He is finding...

    Break barrel

I don’t have specific numbers but it is moderate. The neighbors don’t hear it 40 yards away. Rick H

    Break barrel

My Benjamin Trail can split cards consistently at 15 meters. Past that it groups quarter size at 30 yards. There are many more accurate guns and I have a couple but for this price range I’m very pleased. Rick H.

I would like to ask EVERYONE a question…

I’ve learned three basic truths that may sound simple but took years to understand: first, you can’t be late if you don’t care what time it is. Second, you can’t be lost if you don’t care where you are. Third, quit worrying about it. If there is a problem you fix, do so. If you can’t fix it...

    Shooting Emotions

I enjoy shooting and competition in general. When I shoot well in a match be it air gun or PB it feels like an accomplishment. Not so much when I shoot poorly but competition or plinking in the back yard, as long as I’m having fun it’s time well spent. I wish more shooters, especially the...

    Hunters insurance

I suspect any lawyer with some sense is only going to sue someone with something to take. Landowners have that while many sport shooters and idiot drunks don’t. Rick H.

    Airguns you DON'T regret buying.

I regret none of them. Two I’ve had since age 12 or so and recently had them refurbished. The rest I bought in the last year or so and like them all. Rick H

Does anyone have experience with a Diana Chaser? Looking for low-power, quiet, simple, and fun.

Benjamin 2048 A or B. I have the A in .177 and am quite happy with it. Red dot sight should be easy and I can get 55-60 shots out of the two 12 gram co2 cartridges it carries. Rick H.

    The duality of man

I grew up outside of town and we had a large garden that took a lot of work. I would sit alongside it now and then with either a .22 loaded with birdshot or a BB gun just to chase them away. Never had problems with deer, squirrels or other wildlife although we had to dispatch the odd rattlesnake...

    My First Post

Welcome to the airgun world. You Tube will definitely show you a ton of information. Meanwhile give some thought to what kind of shooting you want to do and how much you’re willing to spend. Also look through these forums, there’s a ton of information and you can ask direct questions. I found...

To sell or not to sell…

Yeah hang on to it. You may find yourself shooting it one day and being glad to have it. I’ve kept a few from the 70’s, had them restored and still enjoy them, not to mention how many new ones I’ve added. It won’t take up much space and when you move, pack it up. Rick H

    Springer storage

I store all of mine in the house either in a closet or a custom made wooden cabinet. Everything is in a climate controlled environment. The only change might be a Benjamin Maximus that is in a flexible gun case. I always leave it charged and may start leaving it under the back seat of my truck...

    Shipping airguns.

Interesting, I’ve bought one rifle from a seller here. It went through USPS without issue from quite a distance. Then again I broke a knife blade tip and sent it to Buck 2nd day USPS at the end of June last year. They got it in September. I don’t ship things they say they won’t accept but I...

Pick up a bunch of vintage Crosman rifles

Very nice score! A couple years ago I got a 140 that had been restored and it’s great. Unfortunately it caused me to lose my mind and have three others restored and I bought two other classics. And I thought I was in trouble just buying new one,,😱 Rick H.

    Tank filling options

I can’t speak to your specific rifle but I leave both my Gauntlet and a Maximus pumped up with air, not Co2, all the time with no problem. I do have a 10 meter rifle that uses two 12 gram cartridges and it stays charged, no leaks or other problems. Rick H.

How many fpe is required for coyote?

Not to worry N2shooter I can hit targets quite a bit smaller than an orange at 70 yards. While I do pretty well with air power as well I don’t have enough confidence in a .22 caliber anything to take that shot and be certain of an immediate kill. I have used 270, 30/30 and .308 at much greater...

How many fpe is required for coyote?

I hadn’t seen this thread until now but it predates my coming to this forum. Bottom line for me is that I wouldn’t use an air rifle of any kind on a coyote or anything else of much size at 70 yards. That distance for me will require a .223, .270, 30/30 or a .308. If I can’t make an accurate one...

Suggestions for a .177 Backyard Plinker?

For a backyard plinker I’ve enjoyed my Benjamin Maximus. Simple, synthetic stock, accurate and fun. Not expensive either. Rick H.
