One screw holds the other screw in place and also there's a tiny O ring On the bottom Screw If you If you change that o ring out don't overtight it the other screw holds it form moving around Just tighten it snug It can leak air there as well

Mine did the same thing you have to remove the regulator just pull on it and it comes out There are 2 0rings Around the regulator you can go to your Ace Hardware And match up the old O rings that's what I did

I agree a lighter valve spring I don't have an air Ventura but I have aea 25 caliber varmint and I put a lighter valve spring and I gained 22 FPE I was at 70 FPE and now I am at 92 FPE with a 50-grain slug wanted to shoot heavier slugs
