    Alkin compressor on order

I never did buy one because I haven't talked myself into the cost. This is the only source I could find. I used them on a fire department many years ago and also with a race car pit crew. Here's the only source I've been able to find. I think they are massively marked up...

    Do you watch youtubers?

In addition to those mentioned I also highly recommend Aim Small Gert is very methodical in testing different pellets with different velocities and varying rifles. I've learned a ton about the complexities of matching a pellet, a velocity and a barrel. Gert meticulously brackets groupings...

New toy - Brocock Sniper XR .177 in laminate

I really don’t know. Still very happy but have only run it as shipped with the 10.43gr range heavies. AoA would likely know the tuning range for it.

. 177 what can it do?

I have both .177 and .22 and got the .177 most recently just for fun and to have a setup for HFT at some point. The .177 is flatter and most of my shots are <50yd. My main quarry are chipmunks and squirrels. The .177 gets the job done with good placement but body shots often need a followup...

Alternative for New Style Brocock Magazines?

What I did to track the last shot was to use a toothpick to put a safety orange nail polish mark in the groove on the barrel of the mag that is at 12 o’clock on the last chamber. As I see that mark advance, I know that the last cycle is when it lands at noon.

Official Thread - Alkin owners - check in!

I got it so that I can get it started and then stand clear while it fills. Happy with it.

    Brocock Sniper XR

The mags are expensive but they work very well. I love my .177 Sniper. I may get a .22 magnum for the collection.

If money aint the issue what scope you buying?

Just think of a March as 20 tanks of gas. It’s getting cheaper for the shorty every day.

Leshiy Returns to the Peacock Coop

Wow those are beasts for sure.

What makes some PCPs so expensive?

Materials and labor. I own an Air Venturi, a Brocock and a Leshiy. The AVA is very accurate, with a rattly plastic stock, fidgety cheap plastic mags that hang up and fitment that is marginal but it gets the job done. The Brocock mags are $100 but machined metal and perfectly reliable and all...

    Fellow NH Hunters.

You’ll need a hunting license that requires a safety course and they amended the law in 2018 for .22 or higher for small game, no turkeys. I’m considering squirrel hunting myself. I keep forgetting to sign up for the safety course. https://legiscan.com/NH/text/HB1575/id/1775636

Airforce Condor SS in .22- Best pellets?

The Condor has so much power that 18.1 or 25gr are what it’s made for. You want enough weight to keep the speeds at 850-900 or so for stability reasons. 18.1 probably need the power wheel down a notch or more.

Why do the same pcp's at different calibers have so much difference in fpe?

It’s mass (weight of projectile) x acceleration (velocity) in a crude sense. A heavier pellet at the same speed has more energy than a lighter one. The trouble is that once you get near, through and just over the sound barrier, the turbulence destabilizes the pellets. So typically the goal is...

MTC SWAT 12x50 prismatic kind of interesting

Now that I have the offset riser positioned where it's comfortable, I'm starting to really like it. With some time behind it now I can raise up and get on target pretty quick and definitely much more easily on a small target than 12x on my 4-16 optics at 12x. Most of what I'm doing is walking...

What age for pellet gun, while supervised?

Emotional maturity varies a lot but I would say whenever you start, do so in a situation where you can physically take control instantly if needed. A bench situation is what I would prefer for sure vs any where the child can freely move around without being controlled. For walking around...

    Air hose explosion

Yeah I decided to keep my compressor in my outdoor garage and always have eye protection on when handling the tanks. I generally set up the fill, start it and then stand a good distance away until the shutoff kicks over and it completes. I use a DIN-300 adapter and fill through that port on the...

Glad I live way out in the country

It's a slow process I've modeled after "hearts and minds" style campaigns. Start by emotionally separating her from an easy local target. Let's say it's chipmunks for illustration. "Hmm, did you notice that chipmunk eyeing you? Very suspicious." "I wonder what that chipmunk is planning." Then...

The rifle is definitely worn out. No other choice but to buy another one. Happens to me every few months.

MTC SWAT 12x50 prismatic kind of interesting

For anyone looking for an offset riser to mount a prismatic scope to the L2, this one worked out well for me. It clears the magazine and brings the scope back to where it needs to be. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B44HZBS3
