    Impact .22 quieter?

I really don't think there's any need, I have a 22 impact with the extendable shroud and it's pretty quiet in factory trim.

    Best .25cal 0r .30cal for the money?

Since you have a 1k budget try looking for a used cricket rifle or bullpup or if you get lucky a Vulcan. A used high end airgun will have a much better resale value then a new lower end gun not to mention the money you will have to spend on a regular and having to barrel recrowned or replaced.

    Want to Buy a .25

Another plus is that nitrogen is very dry and there is no need to filter the crap out of it like you do with a compressor.

varying magnification scope vs. actual use???

I think it comes down to personal preference, I like a fixed mag. scope because they are generally lighter and clearer at a lower price point. You don't have to worry about missing a shot because you did not have it set perfectly on the mag. that the reticle is calibrated for. IMO the 10x SWFA...

    Want to Buy a .25

PistolPete, I don't have a place that will fill to 4500PSI near me ether but I leased two 6000PSI nitrogen tanks from my local welding supply store and now fill my own tanks at the house. I don't have to worry about tanks being out of date or having fresh hydros ether, this may be a good option...

Light weight and compact .22 for hunting - Suggestions?

Have you considered the Vulcan in 22, I had one in 25 and loved it. I really like the Air Arms guns look and the quality but the shot count just isn't there especially for the money. The FAC Air Arms TDR price point puts it in direct competition with the Mutant and the FX wildcat both of which...

Light weight and compact .22 for hunting - Suggestions?

My experience has been that airguns really don't wear out like powder burners can and parts that do wear out are springs and O-rings that are easily sourced from many different places.

    Want to Buy a .25

FX smooth twist barrels are very accurate, you will not be disappointed with a FX but definitely look at that cricket as well. I had a cricket 22 carbine and it was the most accurate .22 I have ever shot and a friend of mine has the 25 carbine and that things a tack driver as well.
