I agree that some basic defaults set for the mandatory fields would help new people and save some time for general searches. I'm not a fan of being forced to click dropdowns and make selections. If I want to narrow my results or search in specific areas, the dropdowns are great. Just my opinion.

Great to see this review. I've always been tempted by the under lever design.
