I guess my next question is, is there a way to tighten the shroud onto the barrel? Wit the barrel grub screws tightened the shroud is still a little loose. Around 1/4 inch of play forward and back, and also able to twist a little. I would think that would degrade accuracy some??

I just tightened the barrel grub screws that came loose. I noticed a third, threaded hole at the front of the pic rail, no screw in it. Can someone tell me what that hole is for?

Any particular brand to buy, or avoid?

When the gauge on my cs4 compressor reads 4350 psi the gauge on my avenge x reads around 3950 psi. Is there a way to find out which one is correct?

Thanks for the information. If I like shooting pcp I'll definitely look at air tank plus for the rest of the set up. For now I'm just trying to make sure I can fill the gun with what I have on the way.

Avenge x, cs4 compressor and a gold tuxing filter from Amazon are all ordered. I already have scope and rings. Can anyone tell me it there any fittings or adapters I may need? Or anything else?

I've done quite a bit of "home gunsmithing" on powder guns. Oops is pretty mild compared to what I've said😂😂. But yes, this is a good learning experience with spring guns. Thanks again

A pellet slides through the barrel fairly evenly, the weight of the cleaning rod is almost enough to push it all the way until the last quarter inch of the barrel. Then it hangs up pretty good. There is a ring where it gets tight, if you can see it in the pic.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, xs25. Cphp's are the worst of 8or 9 different brands and weights. Mo-ron, guess I'll just take it every now n then and tinker with it, maybe I'll get lucky with it one day
