Well I finally went and did it yesterday I joined the crowd

My shooting Chrony has been shot three times with a 9mm Luger (glancing blows, admittedly, but metal got bent and plastic got broken)), but it is still working and giving accurate readings. Also, wind has blown it over several times and the front faceplate is splatterd from shredded plating from...

    Where are the products?

The real shortage is in primers and powders. Airgunners are much less affected than powder burners. Try being a reloader during these times. Surprisingly, firerams are in plentiful supply, but not what you shoot in them. I looked at the air rifles on the shelf at the local Scheel's store, and...

Which manufactures have and haven’t stepped up their game over the years....

I have shot a CZ 75B pistol since 1994, and have never done a thing to it except install a heavier recoil spring to handle my +P handloads. Never any issues. If anything, shoots better than when new. I have owned 4 CZ rifles, one of them used, and they are all sub MOA with my handloads, even...

How many of you have hit a wall with airguns....

@Dairyboy Tell your little girl that "A day spent fishing is never wasted, for it shall be added to the days of your life". I have another saying, "A bad day spent fishing is better than a good day at work".

How many of you have hit a wall with airguns....

Airguns come after powder burners and fishing. I have way more invested in reloading gear alone than in airguns. My rifles generally cost more than my BSA Lonestar did. Not to mention what I have invested in rifle scopes. The big game hunting is typically long range here in central Montana...

Tuning Special tools for our hobby? What do you have?

Many of the tools used for powder burning duties work for air rifles. Calipers and micrometers used in reloading, as well as an accurate balance scale for weighing pellets. Many of the hand tools used on firearms work just as well on air rifles. Haven't bought any special tools for air rifles...

Tuning Fliers-at then end of my wits

Personally, my accuracy problems have never been with my BSA Lonestar. The four major causes turned out to be: A) Pellets B) Whisky C) Brandy D) Vodka I solved the first problem by sticking with JSB pellets. Sticking with a particular brand has not helped with the other three problems.

    Tuning PM on your pcp's

I lube my o-rings at regular intervals, but other than that it's just fix as needed. Which is rather infrequently. A hand pump or compressor will probably need more maintenance and repair than a PCP rifle.

Tuning Who is best o-ring supplier?

Well, I finally need to replace the the o-rings in my BSA Lonestar air tank input valve. Called up AoA and they were out of BSA Lonestar o-ring kits. They advised that ordering a kit out of the UK would be my fastest fix. HOWEVER, I do not want to pay the $20 shipping charge, and I do not need a...

    long life hand pump?

I've had good service from my FX hand pump. In the past 10 years I have had to replace two o-rings. According to Fredrik at FX, the Hill pump is basically a copy of the FX pump. The internal construction is similar based on the above Hill schematic. Either pump should be superior to the Chinese...

    Burris 4.5 - 14 X 42

You might want to consider the Burris 4.5-14x32 Timberline AO. Perfect for rimfires and airguns. Focuses down to 7 yards. I have had one mounted on a CZ 452-2E American .22LR for many years. Zero problems. Excellent clear optics. Outstanding multicoatings. Can shoot nearly into the sun without...

An Illuminated Scope with non-illuminated Mildot/BDC Marks. Do they exist?

Might want to look at the Leupold VX-R scopes. Last year the 3-9x40 was on sale for $500 marked down from $700 at Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop. I grabbed one and installed it on an FN-FAL. Very pleased with it. Only the center dot is illuminated. Has a 30mm tube. Leupold lifetime warranty. Center...

Crimson Trace 2 series now 50% off

Does it have an illuminated reticle? Over 2 pounds weight would only have me considering it for a heavy barrelled powder burner, and only for a night scope if it has an illuminated reticle. Private labeling has its problems with repair issues in the future, and resale value is always less than...

Best 30 Cal. Semi Auto & Ammo Type For Reactive Targets @ 10yds.

At .30 cal, I'm going to stick with my trusty FN-FAL. Anybody with a "hot" .30 cal air rifle is welcome to a shooting match as to which will come out best in some friendly competition. Be sure to bring ear muffs.

    Homemade Targets

Golf balls make good targets, because you know when you hit them. Hit them low, they jump up. Hit them on the left side, they move right, and vice versa. They are also very durable and take a lot of hits and remain usable, unlike paper targets.

    Airgun Moderators (The truth)

The criteria for checking the sound level of a rifle, with or without a moderator/suppressor, is one meter from the muzzle at a right angle to the muzzle in a free air environment, and several feet above the ground. You have to use a standardized and consistent method of measurement in order to...

    What did you shoot today?

CZ 452-2E American. Barrel was free floated yesterday and I ad to reset the zero. What got shot AT was a Scheel's 100-yard sight-in target. The BSA Lonestar is down awaiting a few minor parts for a minor repair. My .275 Rigby will probably be at my shooting range tomorrow, getting its winter...

What have you done with your airgun today?

I left my BSA Lonestar in its rifle case. Waiting on o-rings for the input valve. Instead of futzing with it, I did some powder burner work. I free floated the barrel on my CZ 452-2E American and spent a few hours at my rifle range setting the new zero and testing some old ammo. Old Stingers I...

Disappointed with my magnum springer...what PCP to buy?

I would go with the FX Dreamline or a T12. You save some weight over a Marauder. But you also spend more. Since I am also a powder burner, I have to appreciate the fact that my CZ 452-2E American cost $430, is sub MOA accurate with match ammo, and is air rifle quiet with Aguila SSS 60-grain...

    "Not fair" says newer guns.

It sort of reminds me of my BSA Lonestar .25. Especially the Schnabel stock. Except mine has checkering on the forearm from the trigger guard almost to the end of the stock, and a cutaway for my thumb above the pistol grip, a slightly more vertical pistol grip, a longer barrel, and a higher...
