Resolved. Apparently there is an issue with the Crossman valves. Today I put in a replacement fill valve from airtanksforsale. It's a much nicer piece and has perfectly smooth open and close with little force. Everything works perfectly now. Thank you all for your help and input!

Swapped 2 different orings into both valves, 70 duro and a 90. Both are sticky even by hand moving them closed, but they open easily. Much harder to close than ANY other here. No issue with fx crown and several airforce rifles, or my buddy's marauder. Soo, I'm basically out if ideas here aside...

Hah that's a good idea! Thanks! I did get a few o rings but haven't had time to mess with it yet. I got a few 006 buna nitrile, some 70 duro and some 90 duro. Is one better for this application? Gun fills to about 3000psi if that matters.

The oring change sounds like good advice, I think you're on to something there. Everything slides properly when lubed, but it is indeed harder to close than open with my hand and a punch. I will also give Crossman a call again. They did send me a new fill nipple with check, but the problem...

Correct, the valve where you fill the rifle at the end if the reservoir. The check valve does not close unless you hit it hard on the hose bleed, other rifles here don't seem to be as stubborn. Crossman sent a new fill valve, they both act the same. I cannot see a problem with either. No, not...

Yeah.... I've not had good luck with the stock gauges at all. I'd definitely suspect the issue is there.

Anyone have any insight or experience with the on tank gauges on air force rifles failing? I've seen 3 fail, all pretty new, say less than an year. Either the gauge leaks or simply stays stuck in middle of measuring range....

Slow and steady here as well, never had an issue even though the fill tank is much higher pressure than the gun tank. Just barely cracked it open and watch the gauges when I do it.
