What springer did you shoot today?

    That's gotta be satisfying. Nice.

What springer did you shoot today?

Last time I posted I had been shooting cans off hand and said, "Don't ask me for groups." That got me thinking yesterday that maybe I could actually try for some groups with my cheap magnum springer. Here they are: 25 yds Gun rested on the back of a chair Ruger Air Magnum .22 JSB Hades 15.89...

Other Girardoni (wind rifle) circa 1779

I'm really interested in higher volume, lower pressure big bore air guns. I have a 100fpe .59 I made out of PVC...I can fill with a bike pump - but only get one shot.

What springer did you shoot today?

I shot my .22 Ruger Air Magnum. 32 yds off-hand open sights. Nailed those soda cans - first try. Don't ask me for groups though... been longing for a higher quality springer with a little less power and about 6 inches shorter. But this Air Magnum successfully gave me the airgun bug. I still...

    Can't find a moderator for .357 or 9mm

Sweet. I'm apparently an incompetent searcher. Thanks all. None of those sites came up in my searches: I checked Pyramyd, airgun depot, utah, topairgun, google, etc. I'd never even heard of the Pellet shop. I even missed that current classified somehow, it must have just popped up. Roger on the...

    Can't find a moderator for .357 or 9mm

I'm having a very hard time finding a moderator for my .357 carbine. It's a DAQ. I've found a slip-on adapter with the standard 1/2 x 20 threads but can't find a moderator itself. Any suggestions on where to shop? So far, all the companies I've found online only seem to go up to .30. I know...

Lever action: reliable or cheap novelty?

That one looks really fun but a bit out of my range. Also wonder what the performance is like if tuned for the US and not to 12ft lbs for Europe. After all the feedback I think I am going to seriously start looking at side levers.

Lever action: reliable or cheap novelty?

Excellent points. I hadn't thought of the lever getting in the way when shooting from a rest. I mostly shoot off hand, but do use a rest sometimes. And I am very new to this: have never tried a side lever. I find your arguments in favor of that format pretty strong. I will have to consider that...

Lever action: reliable or cheap novelty?

This does help. Will look at that Career or Sumatra as well. The Vectis is attractive for the price and, as you said PumaCarl, no need to baby it at that price. There are so many makes I still have never heard of even after a couple of years browsing Pyramyd and this site.

Lever action: reliable or cheap novelty?

I am interested in a reliable, workhorse, PCP in .22 or .25, preferably under $800. I would very much like a lever action. I am aware of the Seneca Eagle Claw and the Hatsan Vectis but I am concerned that these may be novelty guns that may not last. I would rather go with a bolt action that...

Mice & Rats killing pistol suggestion please

I've had the best luck with traditional spring traps and cheese. I kill about twelve rats per year with Victor spring traps. I've tried hunting them with my break barrel but there is so much brush and cover around my place I never get a shot...and I haven't yet made the time to set up a bait...

It's ok, you can laugh- .59 caliber homemade PVC airgun with bicycle pump

It is surprising what low pressure can do if you have enough volume and a long enough barrel. I want to test an even longer PVC barrel just to see how much more efficient I can get on 155 PSI. Something like Kentucky long rifle style, except that, because it is PVC, one will still be able to...

It's ok, you can laugh- .59 caliber homemade PVC airgun with bicycle pump

I bought my first two airguns in this past year, a .22 springer and a .357 PCP Quackenbush pistol. I wasn't expecting to have this much fun nor become this interested in shooting, ballistics and the like. It's been a pleasurable year of discovery. And now I have spent a fair amount of time...

    Do you close one eye?

Have two friends who are more experienced shooters than I am. One says both eyes open, the other says only do that with a shotgun. What do you all recommend and why? I am still newbie enough to develop good or bad habits. I've been shooting with both eyes open most of the time - whether I am...

    Moderator/suppressor for Quackenbush .357/9mm pistol ?

The barrel diameter is 15/32" or extremely close to that. I don't have calipers. That is using a tape measure. I need to get some calipers for this kind of thing. - G
