    Tuning Can a 2004 Benjamin 392PA handle 10 pumps?

Either the pivot pins will wear out or my joints will - I’m guessing it’ll be my joints that go first :) I’m interested to see what the platform can do in a basically stock configuration while maintaining accuracy. I’ve noticed the accuracy suffering a little with the added velocity, even...

    Tuning Can a 2004 Benjamin 392PA handle 10 pumps?

I agree a little hot rodding can be fun - It’s the main reason I bought a chrony. I’ve seen mods to the pins so they wouldn’t wallow out the pump tube, and those make sense with really hard pumping effort. What I’m wondering is whether or not the 392PA platform was always capable of consistently...

    Tuning Can a 2004 Benjamin 392PA handle 10 pumps?

I’m about 800 ft elevation. I’m getting an average of 608 FPS with 15.89 grain JSB Hades Diabolos at (8) pumps with my 2004 392PA for 13.05 FPE. At (10) pumps I’m moving the same pellet at an average of 655 FPS for 15.14 FPE. The pumping effort doesn’t feel like I’m straining the gun. If the...

    Tuning Can a 2004 Benjamin 392PA handle 10 pumps?

The new Benjamin 392S and 397S are rated for (10) pumps according to Crosman. There doesn’t appear to be any change to the gun internally whatsoever compared to my 2004 vintage 392PA. Question for the forum: Can the 392PA consistently handle (10) pumps? If it can, it turns a rifle that...

    Tuning The full steroid

Good for you! What year was your 392 made? Curious because I’ve got a 392PA from the mid 90’s that’s bone stock besides a little polishing on the sear and a peep sight. I might have to steroid it too based on what results you get with your rifle. Looking forward to seeing the video!

Tuning Sheridan Blue Streak rough bolt

I haven’t tried moly paste yet for fear it might get into the valve body via the action of the hammer. Could be worth a try though I’m pretty happy with the bolt now after polishing the hammer and the inside of the tube.

Tuning Sheridan Blue Streak rough bolt

fivestar45 That’s an excellent tip, and you’re absolutely correct. The same thought occurred to me last week. I used a Dremel with jeweler’s rouge to buff both the hammer and inside of the action tube to a near mirror polish. The action is butter smooth now. The only grit I feel in the bolt is...

Tuning Sheridan Blue Streak rough bolt

Thanks Michigander :) The whole video series from Northwest Airguns is fantastic! It gave me the confidence to drill and tap for the peep sight instead of sending it off to be done. I removed the bolt prior to drilling and tapping for the peep using the technique John from Northwest Airguns...

Tuning Sheridan Blue Streak rough bolt

Good question - The tapped holes are slightly below the center line of the bolt. I positioned the peep base to get the maximum low adjustment and that’s where they ended up. The bolt had rough action before mounting the peep. Thankfully it hasn’t gotten worse after mounting the sight! I’m just...

Tuning Sheridan Blue Streak rough bolt

I’ve used silicone grease and Marvel air tool oil. It’s better but not as good as my 392 or 397. I’m sure I can live with it but the rest of the rifle is so nice I’m looking to bring the bolt up to the same standard.

Tuning Sheridan Blue Streak rough bolt

I bought a 1975 Sheridan Blue Streak off eBay about a week ago. The pump arm was missing a chunk so I built a replacement in my wood shop and refinished the stock at the same time. It was more work than anticipated, but I learned a lot about how the guns were built and it turned out...

    Airguns of Arizona

I ordered an RWS Diana 48 about a month ago from AOA. After receiving the rifle and sending maybe 20 pellets down range it was obvious the gun just didn’t fit me. I sent AOA an email asking if they would allow me to exchange the 48 for a Weihrauch HW95. I really didn’t expect them to say yes but...

    HW95 .22 FPS/FPE

This is a timely question for me too: Yesterday I received my new HW95 Luxus in .22 from AOA. I understand now what people mean when they talk about Weihrauch quality! I took maybe 15 shots at 20 yards with open sights using JSB Hades and FX Heavy 18.1 grain 5.52. Between those two the gun likes...

Peep sight setup for Hatsan 95

Fair question. I have a red dot on an AR and it’s certainly easy to use. I also have a scope on my RWS D34 and it’s a tack driver. I just find peep sights fun and a little more challenging than using an optic.

Peep sight setup for Hatsan 95

Suggestions needed: I’m thinking seriously about replacing the scope on my Hatsan 95 with a peep sight. Is anyone using a setup like that? Did you keep the FO front sight? Which peep works best on that rifle?

Tuning Benjamin 392S wood stock wanted

Thanks to all you guys for your help and especially to rfuss928 who offered his 392 to me at a very good price. The rifle is on its way and I’ve already ordered the peep from AOA.

Tuning Benjamin 392S wood stock wanted

Thanks Ripper! I’d really like to keep the .22 set up with irons for a short range plinker/hunting rifle. If anyone has an older pumper they’d like to sell please let me know. I’ll be checking Gunbroker and eBay also.
