Your .22 is enough gun with a head shot at 10 to 20 yards. I have taken red and gray fox, raccoons, ground hogs and opossum all with a .22 HW100 out to 45 yards. What you may be looking for is an excuse to buy a bigger gun. Ha-ha wink, wink.

I use the green hunting light, works great, they don't shy away from the green light. Use a rest to stabilize your gun and you shouldn't have a problem with a head shot out to 50 yards, night shots are a whole lot different than day time shots. Go get 'em!
