I have a Hawke Sidewinder 6X24x56 that is incredible. They also make an 8x32x56. It pushes your budget a little at $579 new, but I would imagine with a little bit of effort you can find a used one in good shape.

If a .22 slug is good, then a .25 slug is going to be that much better. BC is proportional to mass. That is the reason a .22 slug is so good out of that gun, the BC is so much better than that of a .22 pellet. As you increase caliber you can increase mass and therefore BC up to a certain point...

I am having the same issue trying to pick an uber accurate rifle for bench and target shooting. I was thinking about slugs and this is all good information. Thanks for all the posts and info.
