 I think you are giving them too much info. As I read it, you almost perceive some of the problems being the LCD or yours. Kinda of opening the door for disappointment. 

 I've read that a few guys glue a small magnet to hold it open for mag changes.

I have a R3M Standard in .22. Absolutely trouble free in over 2 years. Mine is a one shot gun at 75 yards all day long for B birds on the bi-pod.

Not real sure but did you put the side plate on upside down ? It has to go the right way. Just re-read and you say it's fine with no mag

I have the bullseye ammo can and it works great. I know you could build something cheaper, but it's their software that makes it. you can mark shots, go back to previous shots, and review the string. Also you can save if wanted.

Altho they seem to work well, I have trouble getting past the ugly :)
