I think the big news is the slug barrel. That's a Daystate first. Pity it's a bit late to the party.

And, in Factory Mode with GCU P/MV compensation, a wandering reg pressure is not a big deal provided P does not drop to P(min) or lower.

+1 Exactly the same experience. Continually drifting down after an adjustment. Sometimes weeks before settling. The only solution seems to be readjust upwards and then the reg goes into the same pattern of behaviour. Downwards.

I suppose there must be a good engineering reason why the barrel cannot be pinned at multiple points, not just a single screw near the breech.

Latest iteration, 2023, have a much shallow skirt. Approaching the originals.

Probably explains why my early model Alpha Wolf HP has had a noisy, pingy, hammer from new.😕

The skirt depth of MRD pellets has changed significantly since inception. The latest version has almost reverted to the original shallow skirt. Worth noting when making comparisons.

With my Teslong, cheapie, borescope I've found that the profile is best seen with the probe slightly out of the muzzle. Viewing end-on.

The first barrel on my Alpha Wolf HP .22 was a 5 groove polygon barrel 30:1 with the land having a slight flat-ish top. This barrel had a problem from new; leaking air past the breech seal. The replacement barrel is also 30:1 but now has a 6 groove polygon with a far more distinct flat-ish top...

When my chrono failed, the gun had to go back to Daystate UK. They had it a month.

@Ballisticboy Thanks for that. I'm guessing that model difficulty is probably why companies, like Daystate and FX, spend so much development time refining actual barrel profiles.

@ Ballisticboy Assuming this advice refers only to slugs, is there any equivalent information for pellets ?

Slightly off topic, but I recently got an email from Tony Belas saying that Daystate have something special planned for the Alpha Wolf later this year, so maybe it’s a good idea to wait.

@wooferocau You don't mention using a borescope to check bore condition after cleaning. Clean patches aren't a substitute.

My new Alpha Wolf HP chrono was giving intermittent readouts and the chrono LED board light was blinking. It had to go back to Daystsate UK for a replacement chrono unit. They had it a month ‼️
