I just ordered the Chaser in .177 so my 5 year-old daughter can start target shooting with me. Haven't got a scope for it yet. I do have an extra Hawke Airmax 3-9x40 I could throw on it, but likely too much scope. How are the iron sights...have you tried them?

The poor iron sights are part of the issue. I think starting out on iron sights first is likely best. However, the Diana Chaser, which I believe is a great little gun for a 5 year-old, is known to have poor iron sights. Is there a Weihrauch rifle suitable for a 5 year old?

Wow, Odoyle. That's saying something. I had not even envisioned attempting to shoot that far with the 54.

After Odoyle's comment that's what I'm now thinking. The Cayden has been very accurate for me so far, but I haven't shot past 35 yards. The AirMax has a lifetime warranty used on the springer, I'm not sure about the Alpha.

I want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly, Odoyle. Are you saying the 54 may be more, or at least just as, accurate than my PCP at that range?

Same. Was supposed to be here 4 days ago, and nothing but a delay in transit update every time. When you pay for 3 day shipping and it doesn't get there on time they should refund the difference. It's USPS... Shouldn't be surprised
