Tuning I need help tuning my Matt Dubber Special Edition!!!

@Stoti thank you for info and encouragement. I checked the moderator and there are no signs of baffle striking. This morning I dropped the reg back down to 100bar (how it came to me from UA) and got the hammer spring back as close to spec as I could. Shot the first group and it was about 1/2” at...

Tuning I need help tuning my Matt Dubber Special Edition!!!

UPDATE: I talked to Ernest about it. I asked him if I should try to up the reg into the 160’s-170’s in order to make the valve close faster, as Matt talks about. Ernest strongly recommended to try other slugs before going around and adjusting everything ad nauseam. His exact words were: ”The...

Tuning I need help tuning my Matt Dubber Special Edition!!!

They do not have an accuracy guarantee, the gun only comes “power tuned”, not harmonically tuned.

Tuning I need help tuning my Matt Dubber Special Edition!!!

I am shooting the .217’s. I have heard Matt say that you want a higher reg pressure (like 150-160) for slugs because it makes the valve close faster, eliminating extra air washing out behind the slug which could cause instability. I may try that tomorrow to see if I can get better accuracy at...

Tuning I need help tuning my Matt Dubber Special Edition!!!

No, the speeds are pretty consistent. After each adjustment I’ll take a few shots to let the gun settle in, and once it’s settled the velocity is steady within about 10fps extreme spread. I had a buddy recommend I check to make sure I have the right size moderator on it. The gun came with the...

Tuning I need help tuning my Matt Dubber Special Edition!!!

@Smok3y I am shooting at 30 yards. 1.5” groups are unacceptable to me at that distance. I agree, should I be shooting at 100 yards, 1.5” wouldn’t be terrible but I would still expect sub MOA in good shooting conditions.

Tuning I need help tuning my Matt Dubber Special Edition!!!

@Odoyle I have shot it at every power setting from 880fps to 975fps and I haven’t gotten any consistency. Groups are all over the place. I did clean it but only with hoppe’s no. 9, rem oil, and dry patches. I might try the lemon pledge trick but I would assume that after 400 slugs whatever was...

Tuning I need help tuning my Matt Dubber Special Edition!!!

Ok, so I just got in my FX Impact MK II .22 slugger Matt Dubber Special Edition from Utah Airguns. I got 2 tins of the Javelin 26gr. slugs and I’ve been having one heck of a time getting any accuracy out of this combo! I was getting 960 fps at 100bar reg pressure with the hammer spring on Max...

AEAC Video - Ataman Regulated PCP Pistol - Pics and Discussion!!!

While I see what you mean, I actually really like the side-lever cocking mechanism. Could you imagine how much fun it would be to take this thing out in the woods and whack squirrels with it!? If I win, I’ll do it and make a video.
