Illinois resident here-Caliber larger than .177 but under 700 fps is okay. Over 700 fps it's considered a firearm here..177 can be any fps,no restrictions.

As the law stands now,any .177 is okay,regardless of velocity. Anything .22 and over and under 700 fps is okay.
