    Stuck pellet in bore. HW30.

Found time for shooting today. The rifle still prints tiny groups at 25 yards and passed the tissue test.

    Stuck pellet in bore. HW30.

Lead pellet H/N Sport. I didn't take the stock off for a look at the spring. I have no chronograph. I took a few shots after the incident and all seemed fine without wringing it out for accuracy. It still repeatedly hit a frying pan target 80-ish yards away with seemingly its original...

The retrieved pellet loaded fine and looks fine. Definitely loaded head first...

    Stuck pellet in bore. HW30.

Shooting my year old HW30 this evening, a shot sounded odd. I inspected the bore to find the H and N Sport pellet lodged about 1/4" from the muzzle. I removed it easily and fired the rifle for accuracy and function and found no ill effects from the lodged pellet. Any ideas why this would...

    Squirrels and my HW30…

Thanks Simon for the reply. The HW30 is my first decent spring gun and I bought it just weeks ago. Love it!!! The shots were roughly 15, 20 and 35ish yards. Using H and N wadcutters, one was taken with a double lung shot at 20 yards which penetrated completely, the other two were head...

What springer did you shoot today?

Took my HW30 for a walk this morning before church. Came home with a grey squirrel. Not much of a meal, we collected two more this evening. Talk about relaxing.... Posted a couple of pictures in the hunting sub forum if interested. Best regards, Flintlock.

TX200 vs HW97 for those that have owned both?

If you've owned both of these rifles, please tell us the strength and weaknesses of both. Which do you prefer for however you use it most (FT, bench, hunting, etc)? Many thanks and best regards!

Thread about pulling vs squeezing trigger?

Thanks for the replies all! It may be that the thread in question was glimpsed on another forum... I was just interested what the man had to say. Shooting my hw30 this evening, I experimented with a quicker second stage pull vs my usual squeeze. Groups were decent except for occasional...

Ezana, thanks but I remember it being a more recently-replied-to thread.... I appreciate it though.

Thread about pulling vs squeezing trigger?

I think it was somewhere on this forum that I saw a thread titled something like "pulling trigger better than squeezing". I never read it, but can't locate it now. Can anyone direct me to it? Thanks.

What springer did you shoot today?

The USPS dropped 7500 pellets on my porch sometime today, so, I ran some through my hw30 this evening. Nice and calm. Only one way it could have been better.... ......My nutjob of a Jack Russell pup has found standing (then SITTING!) next to my spinner targets is a GREAT way to get my...

What springer did you shoot today?

Had another dead calm evening here while shooting my new hw30. I recently picked up Crosman field target type squirrel target. The little rifle just kept drilling the 1 3/8" bullseye of the target at 50 yards. You talk about therapeutic! I fear my wife is getting tired of hearing me go on...

6 month old squirrel hunting buddy

Just got back in from another hunt with her fuznut. Saw (glimpsed) 3 or 4 but couldn't get a shot at any. She hung in there, but, whined a little after looking for one cutting above us for 45 minutes!🙂 We're going to have a ball once they hit the ground in the next few weeks!

What springer did you shoot today?

Shot my hw30 in the wind this afternoon. Interesting how it affected the pellets versus the mostly dead calm days I've mostly been shooting in...

    HW35 vs HW50?

Thanks MyCapt'. I read your post as though your HW50 weighed exactly 9.53 pounds. Thanks for clearing that up. As a hunter, I know that a pound or two is a huge consideration, at least for me. Best regards.

    HW35 vs HW50?

Thanks sqwirl'. I'm 6'2" and 180#. That said I've never been bothered by smaller guns. Actually for squirrel hunting's elevated and overhead shots, a shorter length of pull is REAL handy. Thanks for the good suggestion!

    HW35 vs HW50?

MyCapt, does your 50 weigh 7.53 pounds? May be a typo above (9.53 pounds). Thanks!
