Well, it "only" took 17 days for USPS to take care of my order with NSA... no comments... I tried the 17.5gr slugs using the same tuning than the JSP Jumbo Heavy (18.13gr). Results were not so good. They shot at exactly the same muzzle velocity, lighter but more surface bearing and I could...

Bit the bullet-ordered a Yong Heng compressor

Well, your post gave me some thoughts and for sure, a lower tanks pressure should make the regulator's life easier. Regarding the poppet valve, this one is downstream the regulator and only "sees" the regulated pressure, doesn't it? I am discovering how efficient this rifle is with its air...

NEW Air Venturi Avenger Regulated PCP - Ultimate Owner/Tuning Guide!!

Hi. Question: my .22 Avenger is set at regulator 2,000psi and hammer spring fully CCW (0). That pushes a JSB 18.13 at 904fps MV and a 15.89 at 938. Steve at AEAC has his "Pro Tune" at 2,500 and HS 2.5CW. Anyone can explain this difference?? By the way, I've double-checked with a second...

Anyone with good/bad results? I'm most interested in hearing about slugs.

Bit the bullet-ordered a Yong Heng compressor

I've been messing with jet engines for nearly 40 years where temperatures and pressures stresses are quite significant. I have not heard anything regarding the "Avenger Gen 1" working pressure. Has anyone info regarding this??

Thanks for the info regarding drying the intake air and good tip with the cheap water purifier. Duh! Didn't even think about that.

Has anyone thought/worked on drying the intake air? I thought to do that but have not yet dived into it... add that to my -too- numerous projects

Bit the bullet-ordered a Yong Heng compressor

I guess I'm even more redneckish than my wife says as I just blow the water after a run using the exhaust tube... ;-)

Anyone cares to share some pellet results? On my side, and as of right now, my rifle seems to like the JSB Jumbo 15.89gr the best at 895fps MV. Regulator just short of 1,800psi and hammer spring all backed off. That gives me a 40yd far zero (all my air rifles are set for a +/- .25" kill-zone)...

Bit the bullet-ordered a Yong Heng compressor

I work every day with high performance, very high temperatures, engines and it's mandatory to let them get on temperature and cool down slowly after usage. The enemy here is not excessive temperatures but mechanical stress induced by parts at much different temperatures. Just had a little test...

ok. It's not me. Thanks for all the answers. I misspelled the screw range on my Avenger: it's 3-1/2 turns (and not 2-1/2)

Forgot to ask: in the tuning process of my Avenger, I noticed that the hammer spring setting was at minimum at factory setting. I could only turn it clockwise a little over 2-1/2 turn. I heard on some youtube videos that its total range should be around 5ish turns. When I try to go CCW below its...

Bit the bullet-ordered a Yong Heng compressor

I started that way, too. Putting a lot of ice in a lot of water... until I realized that I was cooling the compressor way too much during its very short run times. In a couple of minutes, the water temperature of the exhaust is barely warm. I prefer to limit thermal differentials. Of course, if...

My Marauders are the same age as yours and only the .22 magazines fit into the Avenger. The .25's are too thick. Like you, I barely ever use the magazines. The rifles are used for hunting and magazines are not useful for that. I was very glad to discover that the Avenger included a very-well...

Good! I forgot to mention that I had an issue with my Avenger: both magazines were extremely hard to insert. I mean, really. The single-shot adapter fit was perfect... and so was my old Marauder magazine. PA was extremely responsive to send me replacements. Anyone else had that kind of issue...

If you paid for checks, you should have the paperwork showing it. Period. That being said, if the rifle was totally depressurized for some days... it's not a big deal. It's important for PCP to be slightly pressurized for extended storage periods but not for a short time. Otherwise, we could...
