Wow Bigragu, those are serious duty versions :-) Love the magnets trick to hold the target board. What caliber made the dents on the step ladder? that seems like hitting hard... Also going to get me a set of golf tees as this is a cheap plinking target option too. thanks for sharing

good point Chris... I guess the day I get out of the hobby I will have to throw in a free "silent duct seal pellet trap" for whoever will buy my gear :-) I like your idea of the steel plate noise insulated. Do post images if you have a chance. That can show others how much insulation is needed...

I looked at rubber mulch but was not sure how to keep it in place with the vertical nature of the trap. The only part I think I am going to improve is run a strip of aluminum (I like using aluminum sheets... they cut well with same tools as you use for wood like table saw) on each face of the...

I know this "duct seal" trap idea is not new and many have done it already. Just wanted to post pictures of the one I made as it may inspire others since it is very simple, and only requires a table saw (or a circular saw if you are good with it)... No need for a router or a mitter saw like...

So I did not have enough old jeans and clothes around to try the folded clothes trap, which we know works already.... but I had an old area rug... I cut it in four 15" or so wide strips which I folded around (4 folds each strip) and stacked on top of each other in the box... that is 16 layers of...

Just a thought... Has anyone tried several layers of cut old carpet rectangles stacked in the box behind the rubber mulch or folded clothes?? Wonder if that would help any or be noisier or else?

Thanks "Why"... I am very new to this and have zero pre-existing idea about cranking the elevation or not. Just trying to collect advices from experienced airgun users. Thanks for your input... I'll look into adjustable rings as they seem to be more versatile down the road then.

hummm.... intending to use 3-9x on .22 springer probably for 25 to 200ft max range... was going to go with regular 0 MOA rings... so "Why", you think that won't work - it seems they are very common so I would have thought they work fine for most people with this kind of scope

Thanks guys... I had it wrong thinking we needed to lower the scope nose for short range while it is actually running out of lowering the scope adjustment for compensating for projectile loss of elevation at long distance. Very clear. Got it. I am going to hone my skills at short / medium range...
