Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 Rifle Scope Review

If any of these Tier One scopes would get parallax to 10 yds instead of 25 that would likely tip me over the edge to investing in one. I shoot one rifle right now (Taipan Veteran Long .25) and am using an Athlon Midas BTR 4.5-27x50 which I really like because of its simple reticle and glass...

    Meopta Optik 6 FFP thoughts

I agree with you on the reticle selection. The other issue that I have with most of their scopes in the 25 yard minimum focus distance. I might overlook the latter, if I could find one reticle that I liked in their 3-18 Optika6. I mean come on and offer a simple tree reticle like NF MOAR. ...

Unbiased review of the new Vector Optics Continental 5-30x56FFP scope!

Optics Planet never has stuff in stock. They always say 4-6 weeks on everything. I hate waiting. Are they somehow tied in with DVOR too? Their return policy scares the bejesus out of me.

    Help with taipan vet

I have a .25 cal Vet Long with DonnyFL Sumo and I am shocked at how quiet it is. I guess the shorter shroud could be a factor in the report. Curious as I considered adding a compact Vet in .25 cal.

    Issue with Taipan Veteran Long

OK, Lowering hammer spring tension 1/2 turn was the trick! I am sure that I was also a little hesitant to pull the cocking lever too much also. Rifle is functioning perfectly and cycling. Now to pour some lead down the barrel and get myself used to the trigger, which breaks quite nicely! ...

    Issue with Taipan Veteran Long

Thanks everyone. I am tied up until late afternoon now but will back off on the hammer spring a 1/4 turn and see if that helps. I sincerely appreciate everyones inputs! Will let you know what I find out then.

    Issue with Taipan Veteran Long

I have never owned a PCP before this so I am unsure about what/where it is set. I figured that the guy I bought it from had set it. I know where it is, but again this was going to be my initial firing of the rifle so just looking for proper operation to start with before I got serious about...

    Issue with Taipan Veteran Long

It is a 25. Nothing real solid, just high resistance. I guess I was worried that if I pull to hard I might damage something. I did get it back enough to get magazine to go in, but it did not cock as no trigger past 1st stage pull. Would not fire. I will try a little more force, but I have...

    Issue with Taipan Veteran Long

I purchased this Taipan Veteran Long recently, but had not had time to shoot it until last evening. The cylinder was charged to 250 bar I loaded up a magazine was about to give a go at 10 yards to begin scope dial in. I attempted to retract cocking lever to insert magazine and the cocking...

    Mutant Strikes Again

Thanks. Where I live we are on 1 acre lots which was country until about 5 years ago. All of our neighbors refer to our area as Rabbit Ranch. I think I have a lot more incentive to thin the herd earlier than the frost! I got here because of squirrels, but I much prefer rabbit!

Well, look what came in the mail today. Disappointed in you USPS.

Looks like it was left out in the rain prior to being ran over!

    Mutant Strikes Again

My mother and father spent 8 years in Germany and she learned to make Hausenfeffer. I wish I had gotten her recipe, but it was all in her head. Love fresh rabbit, but was always told not to eat them until after the first real cold snap. Probably an old wives tail..... Nice looking carcass...

My first attempt at filling a 60 minute Scott SCBA with Yong Heng...

That is actually something I need to watch. I have not seen any temps over 55C in most of my 15 minute average runs so far. I plan to let it run a little longer now that I feel like I have sufficiently broke it in and sorted out the leaks (for now). I will keep a close watch on temps to see if...

My first attempt at filling a 60 minute Scott SCBA with Yong Heng...

Found one leak. The fitting in the top of my drier tower tube was not tight enough. I think I got it all buttoned up for now. I think I will add a larger water reservoir so I can add at least two frozen one gallon jugs to help keep temps in check. Added a small but high volume fan to blow...
