I would stock up now while Pellets are available.

I saw that all the pellets on my wish list at PA were all in stock. They cost almost twice what I used to pay, but at least they are available and in stock. I would grab what you can afford now while they still are. If the war expands, we might see metals like lead unavailable, or a lot more...

    Everyone needs a pumper.

I love my springers, I shoot them 95% of the time. But you still need a pumper to feel young again. Nothing makes you feel like a kid again like walking thru a pine forrest with a pumper plinking pine cones, or thru a field trying to pick off those big dragonfly's that look like little Huey...

    Crossman 362?

Is there an ETA of when the Crossman 362 pumper will be released?

Midway USA has targets on clearance

Midway has 5 bull air rifle targets in 100 count packs for $3.90 and $4.25 or so. I just got 3 packs of each. 600 targets should last a couple of winters shooting in the basement. The airgun bulls work well with my Daisy 853 aperture sights. I also had a rubber stamp made that prints a close...

    Diana Trailscout CO2 Seal failure.

It was my fault, the manual states not to leave the gun gassed when you are done shooting. I had a QB78 and a Crossman 2240 in the past and could leave them gassed all the time. The Trailscout takes 3 C02 cartridges at a time and can shoot 100 times a fill. I had picked it up a year ago...

BassPro was pretty well stocked up on Airguns and pellets.

Went for a walk thru my local BassPro Shops and was pleased to see the airgun section pretty well stocked. They had airguns from Daisy, Crossman, Benjamin, Stoeger, Umarex, and had a fair amount of pellets. Mostly Crossman 7.9hps and Destroyers. I didn't need anything, but it was nice to see...

R7 from PA on the way.

I had a back order from PA for an R7 thats was taking a while for the $10 for 10. I just got a nice email explaining they had a system issue this past week, and are catching up on all the back orders to be shipped. So, if anyone is waiting longer than usual for an order from PA, dont worry...

    James E. House ?

I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this, if not (Moderator) please move it to where it should go. I just read a comment on another blog that James E House passed away. He was the author of American Airguns and C02 airguns, and a few rimfire books. I had not heard that and know...

    Tuning Oiling an HW97 or RWS54 ?

I have been searching the web and cant find this. Break barrels are easy. On an R9. Break the barrel, 2 0r 3 drops of chamber oil in the chamber. Cock uncock a few times. Repeat in a few hours. Start shooting. But how do you oil the chamber on an HW97 or a RWS54? I am pretty sure you...

How do you deal with heartbeat?

I shoot springers (HW30s, R9) off a caldwell bag in my basement thru the door to my backstop 25 yards away in the yard. I set my scope on 12x, the highest it goes. The rig shoots way better than I do. I find the only problem I have is trying to time my heartbeat to the trigger let off. I am...

    Diana Trailscout C02 Discontinued?

I picked up a Diana Trail Scout C02 last fall as a quiet backyard chipmunk plinker. It got cold out before I had a chance to use it, so I was waiting till it warmed up outside. I was just looking and its not available on PA anymore. Did they get discontinued? It uses 3 c02 cartridges at a...

HW97 moderator, does it do anything?

I have a question on the HW97 in .22, it is available with an optional moderator. But since the velocity is under 800 fps, there is no sonic crack. Is the discharge quieter with the moderator? I always thought the sound in a springer was all from the powerplant thunking as the spring...

HW30s Surprisingly effective to 25 yards

On pests and small game up to squirrels and rabbits, the little HW30s is effective out to 25 yards, maybe 30. I use it mainly in the back yard where low sound/power are important. Dr. Beeman was right when he said the R7/HW30s was so useful to shooters. I think I need a spare, just in case.

Time for a new Airgun Digest

I keep flipping thru my old 3 editions of the Airgun digest, plus my hard cover special edition of the final airgun Blue book. We need a new updated one. Maybe a chapter by Dr Beeman, Tom Gaylord, J Galan, Gordon Smith, Luke Clayton, Jim Chapman, James House, Ton from Airforce? Im sure i...

PA had the JSB Exact .177 8.4 grains in stock

My HW30s and R9 love these, and the RWS Misterklugn 8.2 wadcutters. At 25 yards they both hit close to point of aim. At 50 yards, the jsb hit right at the point where the vertical recticle goes from heavy to thin on the R9 with the scope on 9x.

Storing a Springer with the Barrel cracked to save the breech seal?

I read somewhere that some people store their springers with the barrel cracked open but not cocked, so they breech seal is not hardened over time pressed against the breech. Is this common? I know about leaving a pump or two in a Benjamin 392, but I have an R9, HW30s, and an X20ss that I...

Anyone familiar with the Record trigger?

I have an older R9 that i havent shot in atleast 8 years. I gave it a couple of drops of RWS chamber oil in the chamber, and i dabbed a little Tune in a Tube grease on the mainspring. I noticed my spring has a plastic spring guide inside it, so i could only lube it on the exposed side. My...

    Keter Jobmade Portable Work Bench

I just picked up one of these from Amazon for $65. It makes a pretty decent portable shooting bench about 2' x 3', and the legs store under the table so you can carry it like a big brief case. It goes good with the 2 milk crates I sit on for a seat. :)

    Benjamin Marauder barrel option

The Benjamin Marauder field and target has an option for a walther barrel. I have read that crossman barrels were pretty good. Is the Walther barrel that much better?

What do you guys use to clean your barrels?

For powder burners I have a few cleaning rods of various cals. But for airguns, I usually never run a patch thru. I have a pocket cleaning kit from when Beeman Precision still sold them, but I have never used it. I was thinking of getting some of those long Q tip type pull thru disposable...
