HW 50 Accuracy improvement by accident

Correct, the o rings slide onto the barrel (about 6 if i recall correctly) then i slid the CF tube over top. When i removed the tube a few times to check with and without the tube, i left the orings in place on the barrel. Even with the orings in place (and no tube) the groups still opened up...

HW 50 Accuracy improvement by accident

Thank you! It's made from a walnut tree that was growing on top of my father in law's septic tank. It's loosely copied from my own personal favourite stock, a a GinB.

HW 50 Accuracy improvement by accident

Interesting, that's why i had some carbon fiber tubes on hand, to experiment with on my FX Dreamline.

HW 50 Accuracy improvement by accident

Hi all, I set up this little hw50 as a lightweight shooter for WFTF Field target for my dad. I was going through some pellet testing today and wasn't having much success. Indoor, 10 yard, benched on sandbags and i couldn't get anything to group tighter than about 3/8. To make the cocking a...

FX Dreamline lite AR grip butt stock, plus hardware reccommendations

Hi all, Here's my FX Dreamline lite in 177. I fashioned an AR pistol grip/butt stock from a custom stock i had made for a Diana 56 i used to own. It was a pretty simple matter of cutting the grip square then taking some precise measures for the "tab" that sticks out of the Dreamline action. A...

Red Wolf .177 UK version <12fpe Info please

Follow up: I got a reply from Tony Belas himself. It seems that medium power would be 85% of 12 fpe, and low power would be 65% of 12 fpe, so it will work nicely for my needs.

Red Wolf .177 UK version <12fpe Info please

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the Red Wolf UK version, which is limited to 12fpe. My ultimate goal is to shoot field target competitions at 12fpe, then be able to click a button and practice in the garage or inside at a much lesser energy level, say 5fpe. The only...

    hw80 barrel change, help please

How's the cocking effort? Mine was 12fpe out of the box, but very boingy and not fun too shoot. I've got a PG4 kit in it now, but had to cut lots of coils to get the cocking effort down to reasonable, which left me with 8fpe. Still a nice shooter and i even made an FT stock for it. I...

    hw80 barrel change, help please

Hi Spiral, no worries i asked myself the same question when i bought it. I have an FT stock for my HW90 which will fit an HW80 with minimal tweaking. I have a HW50 and have soft tuned it, but it's still hard to cock and only puts out 8fpe. I also have a 97 which is set up for FT, but i find...

    hw80 barrel change, help please

The distance in between the forks is 18.05 mm at the compression tube side, 18.03 at the pivot side...so it is slightly misaligned. My 177 barrel measures in at 17.95 mm and the shims are .10 mm each. Obviously my 177 barrel is a touch wider than the norm, whereas my .25 and .20 are both around...

    hw80 barrel change, help please

Thanks Ron. I like the BBQ skewer idea. I usually use an awl to help centre it, but the skewer would definitely be gentler. To splay the forks, you just used the barrel itself? Did you leave the pivot pin in place? I had thought to check the straightness of either side with a straight edge along...

    hw80 barrel change, help please

Thanks Capt and Thumper, The 177 barrel is from a 2012 hw90. I'll measure the forks, but i'm pretty sure by eye i could see they were wider at the tube side. I noted it but didn't think it would be a problem as i had already fit that same .20 barrel on my hw90. Thanks again for taking the...

    hw80 barrel change, help please

Hi all, I've got a brand new hw80 (.25) that i immediately short stroked and installed a .20 barrel on. (Didn't even shoot the .25 barrel, just went right into tune mode.) I was hoping to achieve 12fpe and i did by cutting a few coils and adding the TBT short stroke kit. It cocks super easy...

    Lead free pellets in FT

Hi all, I was recently testing some pellets and ran some FTT Green 4.51 through my hw97. The results were surprisingly good, despite the fact that FTT Green are only recommended for PCP's. I haven't tested them at longer ranges, but i'd be surprised if they didn't open up more than lead...

    Strelok Pro help

I had emailed Igor a while ago asking for near and far holdover points, and i think he did change the app to be able to do so. However, at a later date when i tried the app it didn't seem to support that anymore. I get around it now by printing out the reticle and physically writing down all...

    Double chippy suicide.

Cool, thanks for taking the time Mike. I find as i get older i'm reaching more for the carbines than my heavy ft rigs. I assume removing the front barrel band part of the fore end didn't affect accuracy? And no changes to the actual barrel itself, (aside from a shroud it looks like) so i...

    Double chippy suicide.

Great shooting. It looks like you shortened the forestock on your lg110? How hard was that to do? I find mine to be too front heavy. I like the foil / tape on the scope too, good idea. Do you have any pics or links that might show your seated FT position with that rifle? TIA, Ryan
