cea1960 you lost a gun??? It doesn't get any better with age! The warping at the bottom of the frames is common with earlier styles. Crosman bb-matic 454s were more reinforced in that area.

jchoi54, sorry for late reply but I don't have any experience with the 451. You might contact Heather at JG Airguns. As far as I have researched JG Airguns has the biggest partst inventory of any airgun ever made and probably with the most experience.

If anyone needs a little advice or help with a 454, give me a shout. I've done a few now and I'm addicted.

wgregt their site is working again. Here's a link. The spring number is 577 079.https://www.jgairguns.biz/454-c-78_89_161/?page=all. That style spring is made for the newer style 454s with the dated serial number on the left side frame but will work with the older styles.

That's weird, I just ordered about 12 parts from them for the 454. I will keep checking their site. Something's not right.

wgregt, I just checked their site, not working for me too well right now. You have to search for airgun parts, then Crosman, the crosman 454. It will show a schematic and list of parts. You might get a hammer spring too. They almost have all the parts needed to build a new gun.I will post a link...

wgregt, the trigger return springs in the 454s are weak. You might try replacing the spring or giving it a couple of turns to tighten it up, if you can. Replacement springs are available from JG airguns.

I wonder if co2 cartridges loose some power over the years. I've got a few old crosman co2s and one seemed to be weaker than a new one. I have a large garage I use for my business and sometimes, I find screws, etc. on the floor. When the bbs start to outnumber them, I better be more careful !
