Do you have a chronograph? If I were you, I'd get a good read on how fast the 18.1s are going, and then gradually decrease the HST. Looks like you bought that from Tony. The manual that came with the gun tells should illustrate how to do that. Or you could buy some heavier pellets

Yes, that ball bearing sits on top of the imbedded spring at the rear of the housing. It evidently helps with the cocking. If I have time later today, I will disassemble mine and post a pic.

How old is your gun? Do you have the manual that comes with the gun? There's a schematic in the manual with part numbers on the pertinent O rings. When purchased new, Taipan includes a set of replacement O rings. I'm not exactly sure which O ring has failed, but there aren't too many O rings...

For me, my Leupold 6-18X CDS lets me use it a long time before I get eye fatigue. SFP is my preference, although I do own a couple FFP Arkens. I wish Arken would introduce a SPF scope.
