Holding the breath triggers the heart to kick harder, also can push the (muscle) nerves into a panic. A good training is .... exhaling slow / steady and about half way down break the trigger.

You may find chambering a bit harder to get done ? My point is that when you load the pellet/slug with a shorter handle need to apply more force and that will throw you out from POA a lot more.
