I tried most everything you mentioned, I think, except for uploading directly from my iPhone (not sure how to do that). However, I just figured out the problem, I went into my iPhone's camera settings (under "Settings") and opened up "Formats" and changed the default setting of "High Efficiency"...

I have weak hands, but can cock my HW70 reasonbly well, by tucking it in close to my body for added leverage.

Some useful info here. It just goes to show, that most woods can be made nice, with skilled finishing techniques.

I still have my Silver Streak, bought new, directly from the factory in the early 70's. My dad had some sort of professional relationship with an exec at Sheridan and got the gun at cost. As a kid, I thought the Sheridan was the best thing ever. I still like it a lot.
